2012 personal taxes

TurboTax is great! My only request is for more links to be available on the pages throughout easyguide that explain the topics on the page instead of having to search through the help menu item. There were some pages that I did not fully understand the topic but felt it could be relevant depending on my answer to the questions.
What's great about it: no stress, straight-forward
What's not so great: would like information links for topics

Used Turbo Tax for many years now, and this year was first year where I needed to ask TT a question about a W-2 form that kept showing up to prevent me from E-filiing. Didn't have any W-2's so got rapid response to alleviate this problem.
What's great about it: I liked everything. Question was answered promptly and correctly.

Easy and Thorough

I've been using TurboTax for several years. I find TurboTax so easy to use and have been very satisfied with the results year in and year out. It helps me find all the possible deductions and gives me the knowledge to support all of my claimed deductions. Thanks, TurboTax, for helping me take control of my yearly taxes.
What's great about it: guides you through all possible deductions

What happened!?

After entering all my Sch B and Sch D transactions from 1099s, I printed my return for review. Saved and closed file. Came back after reviewing and noticed my Sch B entries were all gone. Put those back in, checked 1040, all fine. eFiled. Immediately realized that all the Sch D transactions had been deleted, too! I do not know what the software did to accomplish deleting all my transactions but it did. I save constantly, was CPA for 17 years, opened and closed files several times. I am so mad but have no way to know what to do about it except wait for IRS to come break down my door. Otherwise, the software has been great thru the years.
What's great about it: Forms view
What's not so great: Gremlin in software

Very Good

Very easy to get totally lost in the tables. Often hard to find an example that applies. A completed example of an average tax return would be nice, with a line-by-line reference to the tax code. For me, the area of hobbies is confusing because I have a very large Koi Pond and I'm not sure what can and cannot be deducted.

Easy to use but still needs research refinements

Been using TT for more than 6 years and it's very helpful and easy to use. My only quibble is that it's hard to find certain things after you've done entering information. For example, if you want to alter the amount of money you want to apply to next year's taxes, you can't simply hit next repeatedly to get to it. Instead you have to go to the IRS form and manually enter the change.
In addition, when there are specific topics you need to research, such as filing status, the help resource doesn't always lead you to the right place. The online search is sometimes not precise enough.
These are small issues. Overall, it's a great product and I'll keep using it.

What's not so great: Finding things that seem hidden, researching topics
