Never Easier

The whole process was very simple; the program could be called "Tax Preparation for Dummies". The step-by-step approach is not only simple, but also intuitive. I recommend Turbo Tax for everyone.

Please look over and redo the section that includes RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) for next year...PLEASE
What's great about it: Ease of filing in info and TT putting it in the right place
What's not so great: Very confusing (VERY) RMD segment of pensions, etc.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax makes completing and filing federal and state returns quite easy. It's just a matter of accurate data input and BAM! - you're done!!

Disappointed

I was fine with Turbo Tax this year until I tried to get to my state tax. It was very frustrating to be stuck in the loop. When I looked on the help line I found that others had the same problem and there were no answers. Finally, I found one workaround. The "click here" didn't work either.
A work around for the state tax form? Really?? This is a major bug, folks.
What's great about it: Efficiency, step by step
What's not so great: State wouldn't download

TurboTax - the way to file

We've been using TurboTax for many years now with great satisfaction. The interviews are very comprehensive, the suggestions are very helpful, and the results are excellent. TurboTax brings up items that you may never have thought of considering, even if they can't be used in your particular case.
What's great about it: Easy to enter information acquired at a later time

Much Better Than Paper Forms

I like to do my own taxes so that I can better understand how I am being taxed and how I can optimize my deductions next year. Filing your own taxes is very tedious even with Turbo Tax but their guided approach makes it manageable. The error checking is really a nice feature. I wish it gave more help when an error is encountered or provide a link to the IRS instructions for that line.
What's great about it: Checks for errors. Summarizes deductions well. Learns from previous years.
What's not so great: When it finds errors, it does not provide as much help as I would like.

fast and easy

Easier and fast than driving to the accountant's office! Once you collect the papers and documents you are more than half way there!
What's great about it: easy to enter info and set it all up - review and correct easy
What's not so great: doesn't move easily to dividends or interest on accounts
