Had to manually make New Jersey tax exempt adjustments on the NJ tax return. i.e tax free bonds and government bond/securities with associated tax free interest, dividends and capital gains.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Manual adjustments reqiured on state return. See review.

Overall a very good product, Using turbo tax has tought me to do my taxes better and smarter. It goes without saying that I have saved a ton of time. I also feel much more confident with the accuracy.
What's great about it: Easy to use, drop down explain this...
What's not so great: During review found 2 errors, unfilled lines, No explanation, Didn't know what to do.

Wanted a lot more detail about claiming disability on state return. Could not change return but through investigation found the deduction was also good because of age.

Imported data

I kept getting 'unable to e-file' State tax due to state taxes being w/h on forms other than 1099B/D/R.... I'm retired, so no W2's. Where the glitch occurred I don't know, but after deleting my Vanguard imported information and manually typing the information in, the problem went away. This was done only after checking all my forms and not seeing the state w/h problem TT kept saying I had and deciding to delete the import. What a pain in the you know what. This soured my usual great experience with TT.
What's great about it: Easy data transfer
What's not so great: Glitches in form fill with Vanguard 1099B 1099D 1099R

Though in CA RDP have to file as married, Turboi Tax had me as single and owing taxes.
It gave me more instruction and options choosing my nickname
What's great about it: Fed Tax ok, but there's cheaper products
What's not so great: State TAx botch resulted in me having to download forms and do it myself

We have been using your program for many years and have found it to be very friendly and easy to use. I especally like the easy guide which take me incrementally through all the tax items.. Also, I appreciate being able to download the tax data from my various accounts and the way that Turbo tax fills in the appropiate forms in the proper columns and does the calulations. It is an enormous help.
Thank you
What's great about it: Excellent program
What's not so great: None

generally easy to use, except when using forms

the help feature does not alway answer questions well, if at all, I find the IRS website needs to be consulted if I have a question about something. I have a hard time getting to a specific form without having to go through the whole program over and over again, or I have to print preview.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: hard to actually look up tax forms if you want to see how entered data will show up.

I found it confusing in Turbo Tax to properly enter this amount so that it would calculate in the state return as a non taxable amount.
What's not so great: Entering Massachusetts pension amounts (which are not taxed by the state)
