Have been using Turbo tax for years, have always been very pleased with the results. Turned a co-worker on to the program 5 years ago, and he swears by it also.

1099R handling by turbo tax

Turbo Tax should make it clear that Federal Tax withheld is not a part of total funds received but is only that portion of tax due to cover the total amount of the distribution.

Over all I was very impressed with Turbotax and have used it since 09. the only problem I had with it this year was having to manually enter my wifes data for our joint return after using it for seperate returns the previous year before our marriage in 2012.

There are NO more Form 1099-INTs !!!

this makes your software very out of date and basically unusable or dangerous to use by anyone with municipal bond income who doesn't know how to trick it on this subject to properly report this income.
Come on - this is pretty basic!

Very smooth and well pleased. Turbo Tax found all the deductions I am allowed. They made the job almost a pleasure. The pleasure is in the refund.

Easy and user friendly

I am glad i discovered TurboTax. My wife and I used to go to others to do our taxes. Which resulted with a notice from the IRS saying my wife owed hundreds of dollars. After paying back what we owed, I decided to learn how to do the taxes myself, which led me to TurboTax. Couldn't be more easy, couldn't be happier. The only issue I've run in to was after finishing up my info, TubroTax did an error check and discovered no errors.
But when trying to save my tax documents as a PDF, I got a message saying my tax documents has errors, and if I wanted to continue. After a quick google search, I learned I can switch to Forms mode on the upper right of the screen on TurboTax. I was then able to find the errors with the help of TurboTax and fix them. After that, problem solved. And Being able to get our refund sooner via electronic filing and direct deposit, icing on the cake.
What's great about it: Fast, simply, intuitive, easy transfer, easy save
What's not so great: error check issue when saving as pdf

Problem with local taxs

At the end, a problem occurred asking for codes that were not listed to complete sales tax recording. I had to for go that deduction to complete return.
What's great about it: Easy step by step process as always
