Why Not Turbo Tax?

I recommend Turbo Tax because it covers everything the average person must report (even if your going to pay someone to finalize). People with little or no tax knowledge can follow guildlines and get their taxes done. Only issue I have is not being able to transfer pension & FICA data directly from Quicken. Quicken treats this income as Wages. I've used TurboTax for years & every year it gets easier. In recent years doing taxes has taken less time as TurboTax can import Stock Investments. .
What's great about it: Turbo guildlines make sure you have covered everything
What's not so great: Quicken Deluxe doesn't treat pensions correctly for Turbo Tax

One Problem:
Took a while to figure out that I had submitted my clergy housing allowance twice -- once on my W-2 and once on Schedule C. It needs to be clearer on SchC that if you have already included housing allowance from W-2, then DO NOT re-enter on SchC

The homeless relative

you found 300.00 in a credit that we didn't know we qualified for. Thanks Turbo Tax! This will keep the rent paid for one more month and the homeless relative off my couch.
What's great about it: this was fast and easy. I liked the way we could go back in the program and see what would have happened if.....

No problems tech on the phone helped me. Only gig was that I had to wait on the phone for 30 minutes.

This year's experience

It allowed me to enter complicated information in an easier format. Downloading data from investors and institutions who have different criteria and line item titles for their entries makes it much more simple for me.
What's great about it: I found a reporting error/conflict with one of my investors
What's not so great: Not all previous Turbo Tax year's data was imported

Printing Returns

1) Can we eliminate the color, and just print a black and white return for government and the copy for our records? Printing with colored ink is a waste of money. Thank You.
2) Add a "Already Signed Up" button at the end where the option to "sign up for automatic renewal" is presented.
