Two mistakes when first submitted; revisions in post-rejection were expeditiously made and the Turbotax software made it easy to communicate back to IRS and State Dept of Revenue.
What's great about it: Turbotax makes corrections effortless, even in rare case of IRS rejection due to mistakes.

Just assisted my son to file his return. Very simple and easy to use and I'm not anything near to being an accountant.

Good software overall

I've used TurboTax for several years. For basic returns, they're great! Some of the more obscure things were troublesome to understand even with the helps and the Community. The service representative was extremely friendly and helpful and answered our question quickly. TurboTax Community wasn't that useful, and the chat lines and phone lines were clogged the several times we tried to call. Also, there were some presets in the state file that would have cost us money that TurboTax put in (nonresident versus part resident in our case) that we had to change. Easy interface, and I especially liked the form view as I filled out their questions.
What's great about it: Simplicity of itemizing, double checking
What's not so great: Hard to get to customer service--help website not great

What isn't covered on the help information on the page, you can select the "Help Center" button, and everything you wanted to know is there along with links to the community forum where someone has probably already asked the same question before you. Of course, you can check the tax professional's answers to their question, and ask your own, if the answer isn't covered.
I have used TurboTax for over 10 years, and I have never had any problems with the program.
What's great about it: Program walks you through everything you need to know

We've been using Turbo Tax for years and it makes filing taxes so easy! Plus it imports info from previous years so you don't have to re-enter every detail each year. Turbo Tax helps you find every possible tax credit/deduction, including ones that I've never even heard of or wouldn't' have known to look for! I think everyone should use it!
What's great about it: easy, guides you through all tax savings

Usually been good till this year

Maybe it was a bad year for taxes in general but found this year's version of TuirboTax to be the worst. It froze up, lost work up to certain points, and no way to retrieve taxes from online version from 2011 (last year no version compatible with Window XP). I'll use it again next year though despite this year's glitches.
What's great about it: Makes it much easier than by hand
What's not so great: Locked up, software errors this year
Pros: I bought or sold investments
