too hard to efile federal and mail state
did not have a w2, but forced to put state and zip code in w2 fields

I was not able to get back to whether I wanted to Itemized my tax return or not and had to create two returns, one to itemize and one to not itemize. It would be beneficial to be able to toggle back and forth to see the differences and let me determine which method is best for me.

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years now. I believe it has gotten easier to understand each year. Everything is explained clearly.

Total price you pay for Software and add on fees is starting to get close to just paying a preparer to do it instead.
What's great about it: Transfer of last years info.
What's not so great: Extra fees, little difficult finding saved files.

NY: The use tax was not clearly explained. Hard to tell what to do with it. Turbo tax calculation did not match the NYS instruction sheet amount.
NY: Could not tell whether filing the W2's was required. Got conflicting information.
Fed Carryover - what is this and why is it always a mystery?
What's great about it: No math required
What's not so great: NYS use tax; federal carryover

Truly Turbo--Just like last year!

Turbo Tax 2012 has done an excellent, improved job of simplifying Federal & State(AL) reporting procedures. I look forward to even greater improvements next year-- [Turbo Tax 2013].
What's great about it: Procedurally simple, steady, intuitive, direct.
What's not so great: Needs expanded direct downloading of 1099-INT & 1099-DIV & 1099-SSA financials.
