I have used Turbo Tax for approx. 18 years and usually finish my taxes in about 2 hours. Using e-file really streamlines the whole filing process.
What's great about it: So easy!! Just answer the questions. If you are not sure of the question it explains it.

Turbo tax is a great way for a novice to file their taxes. The only con is that I had a problem with the state form. I didn't realize that I HAD to restart my computer after I downloaded the update. I couldn't get to the state form and I didn't know why. I decided to take a break and shut my computer down. When I came back and reentered the program where I left off it came right up. Maybe you can add a line that says you should restart to make sure you are ready to go.

In the past I have used H&R block Tax program and have been content with the program despite a few issues. This year I decided to switch to TurboTax this year based on various reviews I have read and from friends that I have talked to. Since my tax situation changed in a few areas this past year I expected some problems with completing my taxes but TurboTax made the experience almost painless. I could not be more satisfied with switching over to TurboTax.
What's great about it: Extremely user friendly

Purchased the Deluxe version. Filed state by mail due to e-file cost. Wish Turbo would lower price to e-file state.
What's great about it: Easy to use, direct questions with good explinations.
What's not so great: None...not one!

I am a techno-phobe. If I can use this program anyone can! They give you lots of encouragement as you navigate the return process.
What's great about it: Very clear and concise! Excellent support and advice given as needed throughout the entire filing process!!

I have used Turbo Tax for eight years now. Have had no problems with returns to-date. I will continue to use.
What's great about it: Have prior year info, Taking through steps
What's not so great: Process for getting support was not clear
