Good, but could use some improvements

Generally I found TurboTax to be clear and easy to follow, without obvious errors like other tax programs I have used in the past. However, my husband and I are currently working in different states, so we file a joint Federal return and separate state returns. Doing this was complicated on TurboTax. At first TurboTax was trying to allocate both of our salaries to both states. Finally I realized I had to download the more expensive version of TurboTax and prepare three separate Federal returns (two mock returns assuming we were filing separately) in order to achieve the correct results for the separate states. I understand that this is an unusual situation, but it doesn't seem like it can be that hard to fix.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, accurate
What's not so great: Difficult to file separate state returns

Problems with Maryland Tax Form 502

Very disapointed with the state format. My state tax return was returned for the missiing information which I had to write in by hand and return hoping it will be acceptable.
I'm not sure I can feel comfortable about using Turbo Tax next year.

Pending status

Need to improve the user interface with a more detail description of the pending status, when your are waiting for your Federal return to be acknowledge from the IRS. When checking the first two times fine check back in 24 to 48 hours, but if it has been over 48 hours Turbo Tax needs to state the facts like the forms submitted for you on your Federal Tax return are adding one to two weeks of processing time. I went out on the web and found a blog stating certain form used for e-filing had different processing times. This kind of information should be provided by Turbo tax if over the 48 hour pending time frame.
What's great about it: Quick and easy to use
What's not so great: Generic update wait 24 to 48 hours yet over 3 to 4 weeks

TurboTax still great

I have used TurboTax since before it was Turbo Tax (Mac in Tax), and it continues to work for me. I also used the business edition when I still owned my C corporation. Works fine, keeps you out of trouble...
What's great about it: data entry by answering questions
What's not so great: trying to find a worksheet with a missing entry that was messing up my review

Glad that's over

The educational credit section needed more detailed explanations and examples. It didn't need to be that hard! I googled an answer and found some Turbo Tax responses from previous years that were very helpful unlike what I found within the program.
What's great about it: I like being prompted, love being able to import data
What's not so great: Education credit directions are awful
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Painless Tax Filing

I use Turbo Tax every year, and I get my maximum refund. I'm able to complete my tax filing in less than an hour, from start to finish.
I'll be using TuboTax next year, too.
What's great about it: Fast, easy to use, accurate.
What's not so great: None

The 2012 version would not support my current IMAC OS version which could not be updated to one new enough.
I had to use my MacBook Pro which had a newer OS version.
Unfortunately, I only learned this when I tried to load the software to my main machine.
