Best product to use for your taxes. For years I did my taxes the old fashion way, by hand - What a joy the last 4 years!!!!

Quick and done

This is the third year I have been using TurboTax and I am still pleased with the results. The first year was a little bit challenging because I was not familiar with the product, but every subsequent year it gets easier to complete my return. I have fairly simple taxes, but the software helps me to squeeze every dollar out that I can. I will probably continue to use it for the foreseeable future.
What's great about it: Prompts you to look for ways to reduce tax
What's not so great: Can't think of one

Was able to download one bank 1099-INT this year. Hope to be able to do the 1099-DIV next year.
What's great about it: Simple and quick.

Good tax software

it is good but could be better in transferring information into it
What's great about it: easy to use and short snapshot of what you want
What's not so great: have to manually load w2 and finance information

TurboTax is getting really outdated

As a software developer, I know what good user interfaces look like. I know how they are supposed to behave. I know how to make it easy for a user to go from one place to another without struggling. I know what a pain it can be to write a good UI.
TurboTax hasn't updated its user interfaces since I first started using it in 2005. Yes, some of the parts are more graphically intense, but mostly, dialogue boxes that don't have "OK" buttons or help that doesn't show useful information (or any information!) or proper navigational tools through the long, arduous process of collecting all of your information are not conducive to filing one's taxes easily.
Additionally, it seems like support for more updated OSes hasn't happened. It looks like some of the visual components use outdated and ineffective input mechanisms, sometimes not even working at all.
The update process remains a service, which is wholly unnecessary since a person generally doesn't run TurboTax every day, nor does the typical user care about updates until they are using the software.
It is about time that Intuit gets itself a fresh set of eyes on its TurboTax software. The management certainly knows how to keep their income rolling with the price of state licensing fees; let's see them think about the end user for a change.
What's great about it: It still calculates tax returns
What's not so great: User interface has a billion short-comings
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
