Decent, but not great

In general, TurboTax Deluxe works well for individual returns including ones with uncomplicated home business. This year TurboTax deleted the identifying account numbers from the list of 1099s imported from previous years; I had a hard time finding out which of 14 forms for annuities matched which entry or whether it mattered. Also, I have always had problems with Indiana state tax. The system provides no help for miscellaneous credits -- you have to know which one you are eligible for, where it is on the list and how much you can claim. For the past two years it has also told me I need to file a NC-20 form, but the state no longer uses those forms. (Eligible charities send electronic files of eligible donors.) And to my repeated frustration, TurboTax won't let me e-file my state income tax because I withhold more than 20% of one annuity as state tax withholding . I have to do that because two-thirds of my income comes from a pension from another state and it won't withhold Indiana income tax; Indiana Revenue Department repeatedly assures me it doesn't care how much I withhold so long as I withhold enough.
What's great about it: Simplifies process by doing all calculations; good e-filing option for federal if you don't qualify for free programs
What's not so great: hard to get questions answered; poor for filing Indiana state tax

LOVE LOVE THE PROGRAM

HAVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX SINCE DAY 1 AND HAVE TOLD ALL OF MY FRIENDS HOW EASY IT IS. I LOVE IT. IT REALLY MAKES DOING MY TAXES SO MUCH EASIER.
What's great about it: IT WALKS ME THROUGH THE PROGRAM
What's not so great: CAN'T REALLY THINK OF ANYTHING

Easier Than Ever

This year it was even easier than ever to import W-2s and 1099 from the brokerage house. It used to be a multi-step process that was 50/50 of working. I used it this year and it was so easy.
What's great about it: This has been the most friendly version to date. I have used Turbo Tax since 1996, it gets easier every year

not as good

constant reminders about state tax was not necessary - Fl does not have state income tax.
import from Quicken not as clean or clear as previous years,
ability to get individual sheets to review not as easy
What's great about it: seemed to cover everything we needed
What's not so great: not as straight forward as previous years

What's great about it: step-by-step guide with all the questions to make sure nothing left out.
What's not so great: When I printed the forms that took the entire page, the last couple of lines were missing.

I have used Turbo Tax many years and will continue to do so. I love the ease of preparing at home.
Although, the State portion could be a lot better comparing the Federal to State columns.

Easy-but is it still accurate?

Interview steps seemed to be more thorough in past versions than the current version. I feel less confident with my return. I couldn't find anything specific, but a feeling that it was incomplete, and some deductions were missed.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: seems to skip over details it used to review.
