Great Last Minute Rescue Support

I would suggest that Turbo create an cloud application for desktop users. I'm sure most people backup all data, but it would be an extra measure of protection in the event of a hard drive crash and your backup flash drive has a defect. Desktop user's would have access to their tax file 24/7 and it would be well worth the price knowing your tax file is available online, anytime, anywhere. Not to mention, I think it would give a tremendous boots to your bottom line.
What's great about it: Great on screen live support. I was feeling lost, but your support relieved all my fears!!
What's not so great: Long wait for support, almost an hour. But well worth the wait. It was great

Review of Turbo Tax 2012

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and have been pleased with it all those times. I did try a couple of other software products but ended up coming back to Turbo Tax for ease of use and thorough content. Easy to get to various parts of the tax filing. The HELP NOTES are just about always helpful and informative. Keep making this sound quality product.
What's great about it: Easy and intuitive to use.
What's not so great: Did not run into any
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Helpful but miss the 1040

As someone who has worked with the IRS forms, I find it disconcerting that I can't see them till the end. I wish that TurboTax would input the information in it's conversational style, but let us see the data that was input in the tradition IRS form format.
What's great about it: Walks you through it
What's not so great: Can't see how it all fits together till the end

Tax retrun for 2012

Instructions not readily available for screens requiring unusual information. Unable to return to some previous screens to correct obvious errors. Specifically, to change business phone for spouse [TP].
What's great about it: Easy to follow.
What's not so great: Definitions of some items not available.

I found it REALLY irritating when the program would ask ME if I had anything to either carry forward from last year or did I want to carry something forward to next year. ESPECIALLY since I used TT last year and the year before that, and the year before that...... AND it imports all kinds of other information why not the REALLY important stuff like prior unclaimed deductions etc???

Worked like a charm - as usual

Been using TurboTax since last century! It has been getting better every year. I always use the interview process and make sure I go through every single item, just to make sure I have covered everything.
It has walked me through the birth of our son, the death of my husband, keeping track of the widow status for the 3 years after his death which I knew nothing about, taking over care of my mother-in-law, (now 101!), and everything in between.
I have been using it long enough that I was confident of finishing everything up in just 1 day... good thing too, since I was filing on Oct. 15th!

I don't see how you can get a better software package. I also don't see how anyone can do taxes without this. The tax code is so complicated that this is the only way you can do taxes by yourself.
What's great about it: easy to use, lots of help, steps you through everything or lets you pick topics. carryover of prior year info
What's not so great: sometimes hard to find and print one form
Pros: I bought or sold investments

You would think after so many years

You should be able to cancel a section that you inadvertently started and return it to untouched. Also you should be able to take a home office deduction without depreciating that part of the home also, to simple buttons.
What's great about it: What else are you going to use?
What's not so great: It on really works for the most basic returns
