Excellent as usual

Consistently good quality, accurate, and fairly forgiving.
What's great about it: Asked all the right questions.
What's not so great: As always, erases the first line when entering data in a worksheet and I don't realize it until too late.

Several years ago, the 1040-ES Payment Vouchers were reformatted to be able to print and use the envelopes provided by IRS. In the last few years, they have to be drastically trimmed so the mailing address shows in the window. If there's a way to change the margins, I'm not tech-savvy enough to have figured it out yet. Additionally, their information is not transferred from the previous year; I have to enter the information manually, possibly because I override the amounts as income is variable throughout the year. In the grand scheme of things, though, these are minor annoyances, not major drawbacks. Would that everything else in this world be as simple.
What's great about it: Easy and intuitive to navigate. More features added to help find your way around.
What's not so great: None really.

I've used TurboTax for DOS, Window, and lately MAC for over 15 years. Still the best non pro software. I know- I've been a tax attorney for over 30 years. Highly recommend for all groups of filers.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Very detailed for new users

At the end of the day (or the return process), Turbo Tax is a winner in my book, which is why I buy it year after year!!!
What's great about it: They keep track of all the numbers from year to year!
What's not so great: Had difficulty picking up from an extension I filed online.

Great for Federal Returns!

By importing last year's material the tax prep time is shortened a lot! But, as you change - and details like 'cars driven' change, the forms import outdated topics and may need to be simply erased, not edited. Software does not point this out. Hilariously stubborn errors then pop up during the final review process. [11 tries today to 'Just press one button to complete your e-submission'] Otherwise, love the program and I'll keep coming back despite complexities in my financial world.
What's great about it: The step approach guides smoothly through the maze of IRS changes
What's not so great: State returns are less robust

Turbo Tax saves time

For the first time, I was able to import from several financial accounts. TT is a huge time saver by directly importing all the details of selling equities. The usual time savers are still great - especially importing relevant data from prior year.
I will continue to use Turbo Tax next year.
