Generally excellent but there are some issues.

Something in one of my K-1 statements kept causing TurboTax to pull-up the "K-1 S Additional Info 2" worksheet, requiring me to tell how I disposed of stock in this company...but I hadn't disposed of any stock. I would have just ignored this glitch but it wouldn't let me file my returns electronically until I fixed it. Finally, I clicked on one of the check-boxes in this worksheet but didn't enter any supporting numbers and it allowed me to file electronically...whew! These kinds of glitches are going to happen with complex software like this so the moral of the story is that it's quite good but not perfect so don't wait until the last minute to do your taxes with TurboTax because you might have some issues to figure out.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to use and surprisingly complete.
What's not so great: It wouldn't let me electronically file until I corrected a "problem" that didn't actually exist.

Love the ease of doing this on my computer

I have used this product for many years, and each year it just gets better and better. It's so easy. However I wish the questions regarding K1 information were more in depth.
What's great about it: Walked me through step by step
What's not so great: K 1 info vague
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Great program for non-procrastinators

Have used Turbo Tax for years now and really like the product. In all of these years I always file an extension and actually prepare and file the return at the end of the extension period. Intuit has yet to include in the program the penalties and interest that must be paid if quarterly payments are not made or if payment made with extension were not enough to cover the tax owed. The only thing you can do is file the return that Turbo Tax creates and wait for the IRS to send you a bill for the penalty and interest owed. Seems like Intuit should know that humans behave this way and include procrastinators in their design demographics.
What's great about it: Easy to use, very intuitive & a great finished product
What's not so great: Program doesn't deal with filing after April 15th

What's great about it: shows & compares what I did last year,allowed me to download some income

EXTENSION TO FILE

I FILED MY STATE EXTENSION EASILY IN APRIL. WHEN MY FINAL TAX RETURNS WERE PRINTED TO REVIEW PRIOR TO 'E-FILE'... MY ESTIMATED AMOUNT DUE ON EXTENSION FORM REFLECTED MY ENTIRE YEAR'S TAXES PAID TO STATE. (THE SUM OF WITHHOLDING PLUS MY ESTIMATED TAXES PAID QUARTERLY).
ALTHOUGH I OPENED EVERY RELATED OR ACTUAL EXTENSION FORM, I WAS UNABLE TO HAVE THE FILED COPY OF THE EXTENSION MATCH THE ORIGINAL ONE FILED IN APRIL. I COULD NOT UNLOCK OR CHANGE THE COPY THAT WENT TO THE STATE AT THE FINAL E-FILE TRANSACTION.
OTHER THAN THIS MYSTERY - UNSOLVED - THE SOFTWARE IS GREAT.
What's great about it: EASE TO ENTER
What's not so great: CHANGE OF ESTIMATE WITHOUT RECOURSE

TurboTax: Such a great product!

TurboTax Deluxe is a great product! Couldn't have done my taxes without it.
Some details to remedy:
On my Mac and HP Officejet J4550, print outs are missing the bottom few lines. For example, on the first page of the 1040, there is nothing after the top one-third of the item 37 line.
Also, missing are the former helpful print options of:
1) The return and all forms and worksheets
2) The return and recommended forms
3) The return

What's great about it: A big help for my somewhat complicated situation
What's not so great: Page print outs are missing the bottom few lines; too few print options

Inability to E-file and print my 2012 Tax Return

I've used Turbo Tax Deluxe for years. This year Turbo Tax wouldn't allow me to e-file or print my return. Nothing I did would change this.
Finally I found a way to print the return and I mailed it instead.
I'm questioning the value of Turbo Tax Deluxe 2012. I've never had such difficulty filing my income tax. I didn't expect a refund and I didn't get one. I didn't expect to owe any money and I didn't. Senior citizen on social security What happened to Schedule B?
