Needed 2011 comparison

In previous years, the numbers from the last year's filing came up as a guide to make sure I included everything. This year, (2012) it did not happen. I missed the convenience of it.

Love Turbo Tax !

The big problem I had was with entering in a REPAYMENT of taxable income "IRC 1341" credit on line 71 for money that was returned to an insurance company after a Social Security disability award. I had some guidance from the insurance company of two options, either take a tax credit or deduction which ever resulted in least tax.
I didn't know how to use the FORMS file, so it was confusing and complicated tax issue for us, yet I did find info on the turbo tax website and it was there that I learned how to open up the forms which resolved how to enter the tax credit.
Due to this credit, we ended up having to file by paper instead of electronically, but it all worked out in the end..
Turbo TAX customer service was excellent when I called to get help with password reset.
What's great about it: Learned how to use the FORMS data entry
What's not so great: trouble entering LINE 71 TAX credit for Repayment of prior year taxable income
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

it was easier to use a couple years ago than it is today.
What's great about it: just answering the questions makes it easy
What's not so great: worried that it does not ask me all the right questions

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. My over all impression is excellant. I found there that were hard to determione an apporopriate entry when putting in data from a K-1
What's great about it: overall ease of use and simplicity
What's not so great: some challenges with K-1 and repetitive questions

suggestions for K-1

Filing a K-1 is tricky. Turbotax should notice that figures associated with certain boxes are 0 and not insist on requiring multiple K-1s be input ( when data for mutually exclusive boxes are entered)
