Done Easy

I've used Turbo Tax for about the past 15 years. I'm happy with the results. I've paid to have my returns checked by a tax professional two times. Both times the tax man said I did a great job.
Didn't like rules for nickname in review area. Just dumb!
What's great about it: Quick & Easy
What's not so great: Would like to be able to zoom screen to help poor eye sight

What's great about it: Cheap, Simple, Great for a lazy person hehe !!
What's not so great: To go back had to go to 'major' topics section ..

Easy to Use, but...

If you have tax-exempt bonds or bond funds, you have to be careful about answering "yes" to interest or dividends, because the software will want you to fill in the pertinent boxes. So, if you have dividends but indicated you have interest, it will show up as an error in the review and error check section. Therefore, it pays to have some understanding of your finances and ability to think your way through the tax return process to avoid frustration. TurboTax does work well but you have to give it proper information.
What's great about it: Works well for just about any personal income tax situation.
What's not so great: Certain aspects of dividend/income can trip you up

lack of print/save options for confirmation of efile page leaves me with no proof my state & fed files were in fact filed on this date. YOUR BAD! The last time I e-filed I didn't catch the oportunity to print a cc for my records & MY BAD!
GOOD JOB OVERALL. BEEN USING TURBOTAX SINCE YOU STARTED & ONLY ONE AUDIT WHICH i HANDLED MYSELF.
What's great about it: print for the major files
What's not so great: no print for confirmation of e-file

Consider An Alternative

Search function is nearly useless. Requires repetitive entries of names and redundant addresses. Simple items such as applying part refund to next year very difficult.
With such simple omissions and sloppy construction, are tax law mistakes also being made?
What's great about it: Carryover from previous years
What's not so great: Basic Fuctions Disfuctional
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Great tax saver

I have used turbotax since it came out & never been sorry. Only one audit when business failed & bankruptcy, but I handled with data forms I filled out- no cost audit. :)
What's great about it: Easy to use ( even for computr dummy), Free access to donation $ list & form entry..
What's not so great: need more save/print options; important ones there, but personal preference not.

Easy As Pie For The Most Part
on September 19, 2013

This is my 6th or 7th year using Turbo Tax. As previous years it was simple and straight forward. At times you find terms or areas that need to be addressed but are hard to understand because of the terms used or they don't apply to your circumstance. You get through it by trial and error. The TT community I joined didn't have the answer I needed but I got through it anyway. Overall a very good product especially for the cost. I'll be using it again next year.
What's great about it: Thorough Efficient Cost Effective.
What's not so great: I joined the community with a question found no applicable answer.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Tax Ease of Mind
on September 19, 2013
Posted by: Domer76
I still find Turbotax the easiest way to calculate my taxes, however, I miss the option to take input (e.g., addresses, 1099s, deductions) from the previous tax year's Turbotax and copy it into this year's return. Why was that opportunity eliminated? It sure saved time and effort.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Renewal doesn't allow product change; Turbotax no longer gets input from previous tax year.
