Lack of NJ 1040 ES Forms. The program seems to be getting more complicated each year, which does cause problems for me. eventually I figure out the solution.
What's great about it: Accuracy
What's not so great: Why don't you print the New Jersey 1040 ES Forms

Software errors

On the review screen the Fed refund was correct, but the amount shown on the right was not reflecting the amount of refund I was leaving for 2013 ES payment. The state numbers in both locations were correct. This error could confuse new users. Secondly, I was unable to e-file my state return because of another TurboTax error by not treating an entry of a 0 as basically a blank. And finally, it would be nice if the program would "collect" all forms that were "created" but no data was entered and delete them at the final review, or at least show the user a list and ask if these are needed.
What's great about it: Overall, still the best tax program on the market.
What's not so great: I am seeing more software errors and less user friendly.

Fast, accurate, and easy to use. It is very annoying to have to keep scrolling down the list of completed sections to get to the next new section that the application puts at the end of the list. It is the same as having to type this list...... A B C A B C D A B C D E A B C D E F
What's great about it: Fast and accurate
What's not so great: You have to scroll to the bottome of the screen to get to each new section
Pros: I moved

Trusting in TurboTax once again

I've used TT for many years and have usually been happy with it. This year I had to handle the sale of units of PTPs (publicly traded partnerships or MLPs) that my husband had in his brokerage account. I discovered what many other users did -- that it is complicated to enter these without duplicating the gains/losses downloaded from the brokerage account. You have to do some sort of work around. I hope TT will correct this issue for next year.
What's great about it: Love the historical tracking
What's not so great: Handling of sales of PTPs (MLPs)
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Was skeptical about Turbo Tax at first, always had a friend (who worked for a tax/bookkeeping firm) prepare my taxes until she retired so I chose Turbo Tax. Friends who have used it in the past liked it so I tried it and loved it, as a first time user it was kind of long and detailedbut the end results was worth it, hopefully next year won't take as long now that my info can be transferred.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: None yet

2012 Turbo Tax

It seems to be work in progress, linking state forms back to the federal information that supply the numbers in the state form. This year I had trouble with Illinois.
What's great about it: easy to follow the questions.
What's not so great: Not as easy to go back and check what you just did especially on the state returns.

Disappointed this year

I chose to pay extra tax this year because Turbo Tax did not have a way to report a special situation I encountered with my new HSA account. My bank made an error in reporting contributions to the IRS. I learned from the bank how to correct the error, but I could not figure out how to report the correction on my own taxes with Turbo Tax. I chose to live with the HSA bank error and pay a small amount of extra tax. Too much worry and risk associated with making a mistakee, so I let it go.
What's not so great: Error by my HSA carrier could not be addressed with confidence using TT forms.
