Always straight forward to use....

I have been a Quicken user since 1995 and learned to swear by Intuit's products. I started using Turbo Tax consistently in approximately 1997-98 and so far have only been happy with my experience. It has been interesting to see the product development over the years. I would not recommend any other financial software / tax software to anybody.
What's great about it: Ease of use, good help options

Where's the ammendment?

I've used Turbo Tax for many years. This year, either I wasn't asked a question or I didn't complete it properly. I now need to submit an amended tax form. I've selected that option but only get a status check and then a thank you. So, it's fine if you do everything correctly the first time, but not helpful if you need to fix the filed forms.
What's great about it: form guidance works pretty well
What's not so great: I need to ammend and it's not there

2012 Return

Without Turbo Tax and the Automatic Extension process my returns would be impossible to manage. I work on projects out of state that make it difficult to find the time to complete filing by the April deadline. TurboTax has been a life and mind saver for me as I sort out the past years receipts and necessary documents. I recommend Turbo Tax to all of my business associates in the consulting business.
What's great about it: State Return captures federal data with minimum of input
What's not so great: Federal return is more complicated and requires more data

Turbo needs to slow down

This year it was more temperamental than in previous years. It has serious issues with Windows 8. No amount of troubleshooting could overcome this. I finally loaded it onto a MAC to finishing without further difficulty.
What's great about it: covers the bases
What's not so great: much trouble to work with Windows 8

Though my taxes are on the complex side, TurboTax handles all the complexities and seems to get everything right.

In good hands...

Up until 2010, I filed by paper (!), so I know that Turbo Tax gets you all the deductions possible. Also, I am self-employed, and Turbo Tax made listing and deducting my expenses easy. TT also asks the right questions so that you know whether it's worthwhile to try for certain deductions or not. I really like the review for mistakes at the end of the filing process, as well as the Audit-o-meter, which lets you know how likely it is that you will be audited. Very user-friendly!
What's great about it: Detailed, but not overly so
