Because of the increase to get the state program, $2.00 less than what I paid for Turbo Tax. I will be reviewing other options for next year.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Price increase for state program is excessive.

After many years of using turbo tax this the 2012 version is well equipped with features, eases navigion and speeds your way to filing a return.
What's great about it: Ease of navigation
What's not so great: Too many interuptions to by quicken or upgrades

cant print 1040

Glad I made the switch!

Great product. My tax preparer retired, and I was unsure of where to go. I thought I would give Turbo Tax a try, and I am so glad that I did.
What's great about it: Easy to use, convenient and helpful
What's not so great: Some questions regarding tax lingo were a little hard to understand.

Some improvement

When submission of multiple states - apparently you fail to send copies of the other states with each state. I received a notice form Virginia (home state) that they did not receive a copy of the a second state that was completed on Turbo tax and submitted at the concurrently. So I had to send a copy directly - could have caused a unforeseen problem if done too close to deadline.
Also difficult to verify date of payment (direct payment from financial institution). A summary sheet of payment options would be very useful.
What's great about it: relative ease to use -

New Computer; No Carryover to New File

I've used TurbTax every year since 2004. Those versions linked with the next year's version. When I bought a new desktop computer and moved the files over my new version would not load. Even when I removed what I thought were all old files of TurboTax the software would not load. I had to load the software on my old laptop last year and this year.
The software needs to load OVER any previous version and saved files should be able to populate a new return no matter where it was originally generated.
What's great about it: Easier to use once properly loaded
What's not so great: If you have ANY piece of last year's version on your computer the new version won't load.
