Never fails to be quick and painless

I've been using Turbo Tax for over 7 years now and have never had an issue with my taxes and never an audit! as things become more complex in my life with kids, houses, etc. Turbo Tax is there to walk me through all my possible deductions and get me the most back possible (or in my case the least amount i'll have to owe!)
What's great about it: Walks you through entire process
What's not so great: i never get back any money from the Federal Government!

Confidence shaken

I've used and enjoyed the TT experience for years. This year the program wouldn't file because of a false error re program updates. While trying to resolve I had to uninstall and reinstall my software. In the process the State program was lost and TT wanted me to (re)purchase. This was a very frustrating experience and shook my confidence in the product.
What's great about it: Great to use for many years
What's not so great: Would not e-file due to false error

Nice way to file

I've used turbo tax several years in a row and the data entry is very easy. Numerous checks help catch entry errors. For non-complicated returns (of which mine are - kid in college, two properties) it can't be beat.
What's great about it: Nice step by step entry of data, very easy to use.
What's not so great: none

excess contribution to Roth IRA

In 3 separate years, I accidentally made an excess contribution to a Roth IRA. I ended up filing my taxes and paying the additional tax until I eventually withdrew the excess contribution. TurboTax told me I was not allowed to make the contribution, and then moved on and that was it. It would have been helpful to me to have more specific instruction or a "flag" reminding me to be sure to withdraw the excess contribution to avoid paying the additional tax the following year.

whoops- I didn't really file

Overall, I was pretty positive about Turbotax. Until 4/21, today when I double checked my bank account to make sure that the money that I owed has been wthdrawn. It hadn't. I went back to Turbotax and found out that I had not really finished filing. I thought that I did. I thought I even had the PDFs to prove it. And I had selected the date, 4/8, to withdraw the funds...
But there was a snafu and it hadn't been clear to me. So I did it again today. I had to download an update from Turbotax. Now, for the first time in my life, I have filed my taxes late.
What's great about it: relatively easy to use, clear explanations
What's not so great: no humans to ask questions of
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been a customer for fourteen years and I will continue to use Turbo Tax when filing my taxes annually.

Poor state return support

My state return was rejected for a missing number and it was very cumbersome to resolve. I went to the Turbo Tax website to login to my account and my return couldn't be found. I instead went into the program to resolve the issue and it would not take me to the location on the form that had the discrepancy. I had to do it manually. The worst problem is that I could not view my state tax forms under "forms".
This is not the first time I have had difficulty getting support after filing. I also find the charge to e file to be too expensive. It should be included in the cost of the software.
What's not so great: My return was rejected for a minor error and it was very difficult to fix
