worked good

The software asked me if I wanted to download the state software. On searching the internet and some help from friend, found out that I did not need the state software as I did not have to file the state tax. If I had said download the software I would have paid for the software and also for filing which was not at all required.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Wanted to download state software when it was not required
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy to do

I have used TurboTax for many years (too many to count) and each year it makes doing my taxes so easy. Perhaps too easy, because I leave it to the last minute and Turbo Tax gets it done!
What's great about it: The step by step guidance made doing my taxes so easy.
What's not so great: Nothing of note

Great..except

Except for efiling, Turbotax watches your back for errors. Given a "married filing jointly" return that picked up data from last years "married filing jointly" return, and given the idiocy that the IRS want a PIN or the AGI for both my wife and me (as if the AGIs can be different with this year's and last year's filing status) Turbotax should check that this information is all in the right places BEFORE submitting the return to the IRS.
Fixing the error was not so hard, but it was very unwelcome. I though I was done with this last Sunday.
I have used Turbotax for years and generally find it pretty helpful. Efile implementation is way below your usual standard
What's great about it: Usually clear instructions. Interface has stayed consistent for years.,
What's not so great: efile implementation amateurish

Easy as Ever to give the Man his due.

Overall an easy experience and I learn new things each time I use Turbo Tax. There is a good reason I keep coming back...what, 15 years now?
What's great about it: Simple, easy, guided each step or let me skip around
What's not so great: State e-file is too expensive, and could be done for free. Wanted big fees for any service options, ie. credit card use

Not as good as it used to be

Finding help not as well implemented as in some previous years.
The entire Intuit website was unusable for paying by credit card for the state e-filing on 4/14, and I was unable to e-file on 4/14.
There were some areas that did not transfer over from 2011 form to the 2012 form.
What's great about it: Similar format to previous years
What's not so great: Some of entry items not similar, not implemented in full compared to previous years.

I've been using TurboTax for over 10 years and each year it seems the software get better and easier to use. I have never had a problem with any returns I have filed with Turbo Tax Software!
What's great about it: the step by step interactive and search independently option
