Left Scratching My Head

This year has been by far, the most difficult and confusing to use Turbo Tax!! We have used this software for the past 8 years and I have never had an issue. This year, it was confusing and aggravating!!!
What's great about it: Still the best tax software
What's not so great: Starting to get more confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Thorough, Easy, Quick

TurboTax Deluxe 2012 was easy to install and use. It successfully imported my previous year's data which saved lots of time. I was able to walk through all deductions one at a time and have it check for errors. I had forgotten to enter my state sales tax rate for my sales tax deduction and the error checker caught this which ultimately increased my refund!
What's great about it: Imported last year's info. Walked me through step by step. Checked for errors & helped me correct them. User help.
What's not so great: I had no problems

Easy to use

PRO: The EASY GUIDE makes navigating through the program a cinch.
CONS: Not a major Con, but when you create a form, then realize you don't want or need it, it's hard to get to the DELETE FORM menu. Maybe make an icon on the form itself so it can be deleted if necessary.
What's great about it: The easy guide
What's not so great: Deleting Forms

Tax Filing Made Easy
on April 17, 2013

I found it easier this year to operate TurboTax. No glitches at all. Easier to navigate from section to section. I was able to finish completing my tax return faster than other years. I have used TurboTax for more than a decade. I love this product!
What's great about it: User friendly. Worked perfectly, better than previous years.
What's not so great: I miss hearing the advisors friendly voices from previuos years.

need ability to display any form while in EasyStep
on April 17, 2013

Most of the time, TurboTax allowed me to get the job done easily and efficiently by providing a choice between the interview screens and the form entry interface. It even allowed me to show the form entry interface for the directly-related form or worksheet while working on the interview screen. However, sometimes the context-sensitive information in the interview screen is skimpy or no related tax form or worksheet is offered for viewing. There were times when the only way I could understand the effect of a particular interview data entry field on my taxes would be to display Form 1040, Schedule A, B, C, or D, or some other indirectly-related form. Currently, it isn't possible to choose an indirectly-related form or worksheet to be displayed while entering data in the interview interface. Ideally, it should be possible to display one or more such indirectly-related forms or worksheets (maybe view-only) in separate display windows while using the interview interface. Data entered in the interview interface should immediately be reflected in the the displayed forms and/or worksheets.
What's great about it: comprehensive feature set covering all tax topics applicable to individual taxpayers
What's not so great: some context-sensitive help is skimpy; can't pick form to view in EasyStep
