Fast Is Better!

Using Turbotax was dummy proof for me. The step-by-step instructions were the best. If I can use turotax anyone can use it. I found error check was the best. The entire software was very, very easy. Turbotax is the way to go.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step instructions, Error Check on-the-spot, and Easy to use
What's not so great: In the beginning of the software, there should be a list of things one will need for final processing of return.

Turbo Tax was very helpful it walking me through each step and was very clear and easy to understand. I had never had to do my own taxes before as I divorced late in the year after many, many years of marriage. I was glad I could work on it when I had time to work on it. Unfortunately I ended up going through the whole process twice (>12 hrs ea time) as it didn't save anywhere as I was going along and my computer crashed before I finished and saved the file.
What's great about it: Could work on it when I wanted to
What's not so great: No automatic save

I've used Turbo Tax for more than 15 years. I like how it steps me through the tax process. Since I've used it for so long I'm aware of what I need to complete my taxes, so I'm prepared when I sit down. That makes it easy. I've only had one issue when the government changed my return over an entry, rather than delve into it, I just let the government take the money. This year I tried the down loading method for extracting information from my Schwab account. I had to back out of that because Turbo Tax extracted information from my children s account which I manage. I was expecting a selection process that would allow me to determine which accounts to gather information from. Other than that I like Turbo Tax.

We have been using Turbo Tax for about 5 years and overall the experience has been positive. It's much easier than sitting down sorting through required IRS forms and reading their tax rules and laws and ultimately figuring out every step to complete the filings of our returns.
What's great about it: Made my tax filing a pleasant experience. Relatively quick and easy.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Best tax software out there, bar none

Best tax software out there. Tried competitors in the past because they were cheaper, however, it was like buying a different car one year based on price alone - similar in many respects, but just didn't perform as well. Was wiling to spend a bit more for a better driving experience, so went back to TT and was happy I did.
Will ALWAYS buy Intuit TT in the future, as long as they keep make the product great!

What's great about it: Rarely a problem encountered, actually makes filing taxes as stress-free as humanly possible
What's not so great: Product price a bit high, but well worth it in the end
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Always take the extra insurance! I had put an income in the wrong line one year and got a bill from the IRS for $4000!!! I called Turbo Tax and they took care of it all. I never had to deal with IRS. Real peace of mind!
What's great about it: Just go step by step. Anyone can do it.
What's not so great: nothing
