20 Years with TurboTax

Though I have used TurboTax for many years, it appears to get simpler every year despite the increasing complexity of the tax laws. I really appreciate the interview like process that brings up deductions I would, in all likelihood, not have thought of without TurboTax

Charitable Giving Frustration

I have been a Turbo Tax user for many years. I typically find it easy to follow along and feel that it handles my fairly straightforward return.
This past year we cleaned a lot of stuff from our basement so I had a lot of items donated to Goodwill for 2012. I had already gone through and priced each item per Goodwill's guidelines. However, when I went to enter my own value in the charitable contribution of items, I had to turn around and provide a cost basis. Again, the items I had donated had been in the basement for many years. I had no idea what I had paid for any of them. However, I could not get around this. Running out of time, I had not choice but to go through Its Deductible. It was disappointing I couldn't get all of my items entered in time to meet the tax deadline.
What's great about it: Its Deductible was free and more generous
What's not so great: Entering my own info would have required cost basis which was not appropriate for my situation

Not sure what to do without Turbo Tax

After a year of sitting on the floor with piles of paper documents everywhere and filling out long forms I gave Turbo Tax a try. I still have all the documents around me, but I am no longer filling out long forms and can quickly make corrections and find added deductions without researching if they exist or not.
What's great about it: Easy to use, quick review and correction, available planning for next year
What's not so great: They don't just pay the taxes for me

TurboTax Did It Again!

This program is very user-friendily which allowed me to easily enter in all of my household information. The automatic updates were helpful along with the pointers on deductions.
What's great about it: This program is very user-friendily! I was able to confidently complete my taxes.

We've been using TurboTax for many years. We've never had a complaint! Always easy to use and easy to go back and correct or add info.
We'll continue using TurboTax for as long as it is an option!
Very happy with it!
What's great about it: Easy to use! Walks us thru everything - checks for mistakes!
What's not so great: Didn't think I would have a filing fee for the State return.
