Almost There

The old horizontal "thermometer" of old is missed. That was a helpful guide as to how much of the process was complete as well as helping with back tracking.
The Massachusetts healthcare provisions could have been more helpful and it felt like navigating in the dark.
God help us all when that becomes a national feature.

Easy Peasy

I have relied on Turbo Tax for as long as I can remember. I like doing my own taxes and this program has never let me down. With Turbo Tax I feeel secure and certain that they are done and filed correctly.
What's great about it: I just let the program guide me through the whole process.

Great Software

Easy to Use; Fun little comments here and there, which give us a little smile and relieve a little of the stress that comes with filing taxes. Much MUCH better than going to a tax "professional" to file taxes.
The page did error while processing may payment for e-file, right after confirmation screen, so I was not sure if I ended up paying twice -- or not -- to e-file, but of all of the years that we have been using TurboTax, this is the only complaint I've ever been able to make about the software.
What's great about it: Easy to Use; Fun little comments here and there
What's not so great: Page error'd on payment, so I was not sure if I ended up paying twice -- or not -- to efile.

turbo tax review

really disappointed i had to pay for ca efile after paying a fairly high price for turbo tax. especially since our taxes are pretty simple (mortgage interest, charities). love it's deductible - reason to continue purchasing tt. love that i can see previous tax year and current tax year side-by-side. wish there was a tool to analyze different tax scenarios - married v single v head-of-household. would like to see snapshot of fed/state taxes paid at end of filing - only noticed this for ca.
What's great about it: it's deductible; previous tax return columns
What's not so great: not enough info explaining deductions; hated paying for ca efile!!!

Disappointed

I did my taxes and my childrens. Planning on e-filing all returns, all failed to connect. Computer was connected to internet with strong signal. All other on-line web browsers were working. Had I.T person even check connection on 3 week old computer. He said it was bad software. I wasted way to much time . Ended up mailing everything, State and Federal. otherwise everything else worked fine. Have used Turbo Tax for ten years. E-filed the last 4 years this was the first failure. Now I'm gun shy of this product.
What's great about it: easy to use - very helpful explanations
What's not so great: E-file would not work

Rescued Me

I have been using TurboTax since 2001. It has gotten easier over the years. It doesn't take up too much of my time to get them done. I especially like the help section that explains all of the confusing tax terms.
What's great about it: Asks all of the right questions and tells you what you need
What's not so great: It could be more direct if you don't have to file.

Unless you need complicated guidance on returns like offshore accounts, business ventures and really need an attorney for your affairs, TURBO TAX is all you need!
