Turbo Tax to the Rescue!

I love the easy to follow directions and step by step "hand holding" along the way :-) Only problem is if you have a situation 'out of the ordinary' (i.e. selling stocks) it can get confusing - I know an upgrade package is offered, but I can't afford paying more than necessary. Other than that, GREAT program to get.
I also enjoy doing my taxes in the privacy of my own home instead of a "stranger" looking at my finances.
Thank you Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Easy to use, step by step process.
What's not so great: When detailed information is not what you see on documents that you received (i.e. Form 1099-B)

Makes it easy, but not a lot of control

Overall turbo tax is a good software - gets you through all the major items quickly and accurately. Except when you get to the more specific or detailed schedules. Sometimes it will check a box for you that becomes difficult to change. Or it will get stuck with an error that you cannot correct. So, for example I had an asset purchase that I entered and in the review it said I had an error - software said the depreciation was wrong - I kept making the correction but the same error appeared each time I ran the review. So, I had to delete the asset and re-enter it (the exact same way) and voila, error gone. So things like that can be a pain in the butt!
What's great about it: taxes are done quickly and easily with lots of helpful hints
What's not so great: hard to make changes - the software thinks its smarter than you
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

It got confusing

My misc. income was less than 2K, I added in the milage and was sent all the program and I couln't get back on track. I still think I have made errors on my Misc. income and may have to ament my return. Frustrating for me!
What's great about it: I filed my finance' return . . . .no problem!
What's not so great: Got stuck because I had some misc. income . . .then it wanted to throw me into Homstead Credit.

I had everything completed in about 2 hours. Everything was complete and waiting for Schedule C information within an hour and a half. Completed schedule C in about 20 minutes. I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years and will continue to do so.
What's great about it: It is easy to follow the easy step to complete taxes
What's not so great: Not sure I did not like anything other than my husband waiting until the last minute!

Making the Complex Simple

Excellent Process!

Turbo Tax is great! By preparing the information, the data information, which I'd have to do for a CPA or an accounting firm anyway, I can just input the data and save myself a lot of money in costs. I feel confident this is a reliable program for the average filing person. I highly recommend it to my friends, and actually we discuss any issues we may have and help each other out. A community is always helpful.
What's great about it: Walks one through the whole process
What's not so great: still have to find all the input data

Great Program, the best I have used.

Highly recommend this program. Once I started using it I do not feel to try other software, this one keeps improving and being user friendly no matter how complex your return might be.
What's great about it: Very intuitive, makes me feel working with a live entity
What's not so great: A little more help on how to go back to corrections
