partial residency - > partial support

turbotax is solid with the bread and butter federal taxes, but i did not feel as confident about its tax-savy prowess in handling my recent move from DC to Maryland. the supporting annotation was lacking to adequately sort out and divide income over time when explaining a change in residency, selling and buying homes, moving, etc.
What's great about it: turbotax is strong on the federal review
What's not so great: turbotax has room for improvement with split residency state taxes

Easy to use

I've used Turbo tax for the last 10-12 years and it is by far the easiest tax program. I have used both H&R Block online tax program and the tax free online and turbo tax is by far the easiest to use and understand

Family Taxes

I can do everyone in the family's taxes from my 16 year old to my 97 year old gram. The only thing I don't like is the fee for filing the state taxes.
What's great about it: first timers to old timers

I have used Turbo Tax for years. They find a way to improve it every year. I assume they have great support. I have never needed it!
What's great about it: It just keeps getting better
What's not so great: In the main menu, when you finish it returns to the top and you have to scroll down to the next item every time

refund streamline

Over all I think its really a quick and inexpensive way to have your taxes done and at the same time have the guidance of a tax professional at your desk.
What's great about it: Tips on possible things I forgot or just didn't know
What's not so great: Medical HRA's an other medical wasn't understandable
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

STILL the easiest and best tax program around

I have used Turbo tax for at least 5 years. I use it for myself and my kids. It is robust enough that it can handle complex business deduction issues, but simple enough that I can use it (no accounting background). Each year the user interface (menus, etc.) seem to change. This year was not as simple as previous years...so I hope you return to previous format. In particular, it is not as easy this year to search for specific forms. E-filing was a breeze, for myself and my daughter's return.
What's great about it: Very thorough questions to ensure maximum refund. Audit insurance.
What's not so great: Program interface is not as easy to navigate this year as it was in the past.

Simple, quick and accurate

For the last seven years I've done my taxes in my underwear! My CPA sister in law checks them over after I'm done and she's never found an error (She uses TurboTax to do hers as well)
What's great about it: Easiest software out there
What's not so great: none
Pros: I bought or sold investments
