I've been using TurboTax to prepare my Federal and State returns for as long as I can remember. As a result, I have easy access to more than a decade worth of tax files, and can't ever remember spending more than a few hours, including gathering my very poorly maintained records.
What's great about it: Easy to use, continuity from year to year
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Generally good and transfers data from prior year. Got into an infinite loop when updating my credit card info and couldn't submit one return for quite a while. The edit drop down did not allow me to uncheck estimated address for many tries.
Like that all last year's info except for my long-term care policy numbers are automatically transferred.

Another year of painless tax filing. I am always at ease when using Turbotax. The program is simple and it guides you through every step to complete your return in no time.

THE MULTIPLE STATE WAS NOT THAT SIMPLE. SHOULD OF STARTED WITH OUT OF STATE FIRST THAN STATE WHERE YOU RESIDE.

Is easy to use and very self explanatory with great help sections. Was easy for myself and my wife to use at different times with very little need for explanation of where we left off or what we left out.

Had to search for the forms icon and any other tools I needed to work out the kinks.
The vehicle work sheet came up and posed a problem. I did not claim and type of vehicle expenses. It was a nightmare until I figured it out.

Almost painless!

My wife did our taxes for 37 years. She's now recovering from a brain tumor so I had to do them. TurboTax made it almost a painless process. Easy questions, good explanations (mostly.) The partnership with various banking institutions was a great feature, although I have a couple of credit unions that weren't included. Lastly, it's 10:30pm on April 15th. TurboTax 's e-filing means I got my return in on time.
