GREAT PRODUCT

This is an absolute great product for the money. I have used Turbo Tax for the last four years and saved big bucks by not going to H&R Block.
What's great about it: EASY TO USE AND AFFORDABLE!
What's not so great: DIFFICULT EXPLANATIONS IN SOME CATEGORIES

MD State Tax Vouchers

Vouchers were not printed for the due dates listed for Estimated Payments as was done in the past. Why are they not printed so as to have a record of mail payments?
How do I print them?
I know this is a review but will I get a response??

What's great about it: Everything worked out okay and easily except for no payment vouchers.
What's not so great: Vouchers were not printed for he due dates

Failure to correctly calculate my 2011 PA income has caused me to file an amended return. Thank goodness I caught this error this year, or I would have forefeited many $$$ to the Commonwealth of PA.

Furstrating Error

The past two years I have had the same trouble with filing the forms. I have no W-2 as I am retired. However it always checks for the error of no entry on the W-2 (of which I have not) when I try to transmit. This "error" should have been found long before the attemt to transmitt. I have to weed all the way back to find the untitled W-2, delete it and then try to send again, hoping it will not charge my credit card again. I thought last years was just a bug but now after a second year I beleive no one reads this.
What's great about it: For the most part easy
What's not so great: Has gotten to be expensive

Sluggish

In changing from step-by-step to forms, the program just thought and balked and then finally. Ditto for printing instructions, forms and worksheets. Be patient; finally the program delivers. Sluggishness costs a star.
What's great about it: Excellent step-by-step instructions
What's not so great: Very slow in changing modes and in print & save

1. My real Estate LLC withheld Money for Oregon taxes. I could find nowhere in Turbotax to account for this and had to force it into the tax form.
2. The oregon portion interpreted my Washington sales tax as income tax and excluded it from my oregon deductions. I had to override it on the tax form and then had a devil of a time getting Turbotax to accept it and allow me to e-file.

Quick and Easy

This is my ninth year using Turbo Tax. The program seems to get better and easier every year. My grown children now use it to file their taxes.
My only complaint is the process for getting help. Wait times are much longer than is indicated on the screen.

What's great about it: Asks the right questions and helps the process to flow smoothly.
What's not so great: Getting help is a long and tedious process.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
