The tax prep was easy as usual. I have used Turbo Tax for the last 12 years. Never had a problem.
What's great about it: Easy to use, do not have to leave the house
What's not so great: No issue with software, only have issue with IRS

TurboTax is great. Starting using it for year 2000 and will not turn back. The savings to file my own taxes and confidence of the audit review should be enough to confince any reasonable person.
Over the years the wizard help has greatly improved, and do not have to keep up with all the tax laws and changes. If interested, there is great help, advise, and links to get you the information you need.
I'll stay loyal as long as the cost of the product does get unreasonable. Keep up the great work!
What's great about it: Able to download financial documents and tax audit review!
What's not so great: It so darn easy, I feel guilty!

Have used others in the past, TurboTax still best there is.
What's great about it: Detailed walk through each section is terrific.
What's not so great: No much to dislike.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Since my audit risk was low, I didn't know if I was pushing my envelope for deductions. Should I donate more next year? does buying a painting in an auction constitute full deduction of purchase price? how can I maximize my deduction with a ROTH-IRA? should I even pursue other avenues of deductions?
What's great about it: Have "explore" options, instead of being spoon fed.
What's not so great: I don't really know if it optimized my return or not.

THE FIRST TIME I USED IT, I WAS SURE IT WAS GOING TO BE DIFFICULT. AS I USED IT, IT BECAME CLEAR THAT ALL THE SMALL AND LARGE QUESTIONS WOULD BE ANSWERED, IF NOT BY THE PROGRAM, BY THE ONLINE HELP. I HAVE USED TURBO TAX FOR SIX YEARS NOW. I'D ONLY SWITCH FOR A SEXY TAX LADY
What's great about it: THE STEP BY STEP
What's not so great: IT WOULD BE NICE IF IT WAS FREE

Difficult to make adjustments

While inputting the information from my K-1 for a Trust, my mouse grazed the button for a Partnership. ( I am not part of a partnership.) But once that button was activated, that Form 1065 was part of my return. Turbo Tax wanted more info to put on that form, and of course, since I'm not part of a partnership, I didn't have that info. Turbo Tax refused to file my return electronically. It took an hour and several internet searches to remove that form. My first attempt at help was through Turbo Tax - and that was NO HELP. I finally found an answer through a discussion thread, but really, they need a "back" button or an "undo" button.
Also turbo tax insisting taxing 100% of my federally tax exempt income when according to my K-1 only 50% was taxable. When I overrode the entry on the forms, Turbo Tax refused to file electronically. Since I live in NY and I am required by law to file my state return electronically, I had to pay tax on the full amount. I'd like to send Turbo Tax the bill for the difference!
What's great about it: finds deduction I might have missed
What's not so great: Once you "start" a topic, you can't get it out of your return!
