Easy and straighforward

TurboTax makes filing your taxes electronically (or by mail) easy. The hardest part of doing your taxes is gathering the paperwork and information for entry and then TurboTax will guide you through the rest. The order is logical and the help files are useful for clarifying the information on each screen. When you get into more complicated nuances involved in filing for your business and home, the software will point you to the direct IRS reference, if needed. The import tools and ability to pull information from year to year really speed up filing a return. I also like the use of the "It's Deductible" software. I had been really under-estimating the value of many of my deductions before I started using it and it allows me to capture deduction information all year. I occassionally get frustrated with finding how to jump to a section when I know I have information to enter and the tool wants to guide me through the steps. Also, occassionally, it asks for data that I know is going to end up being irrelevant...but I also recognize it does this as a feature of being able to guide the user and guarantee the calculations and advice. All-in-all, I like TurboTax and have been using if many years.
What's great about it: Turbotax transferred my info from last year and imported a lot of information so I didn't have to enter as much
What's not so great: Some items are hard to find if you want to jump directly to something that you need to enter

I was able to file my tax return at a time that was convenient for me. Which happens to be a couple hours before it was due. But, it's done.

Smooth AS always

The program is easy to use and follow. It is quick if you have all your info ready to input. A check list formed from last years return on what info to gather ahead of time might be a nice addition.
What's great about it: easy step by step procedure
What's not so great: school loan section and info about paying/deducting insurance preminum

We have used TurboTax for several years now and highly recommend it. We wouldn't use anything else!
What's great about it: Love how all my data from last year was transferred and/or displayed for comparison
What's not so great: Wish the state e-file was free, too!

Unpleasant Becomes Pleasant

I have use TurboTax for a few years, now, and have been satisfied with the ease of use and performance. I am always confident that my tax assessment is accurate and fair.
What's great about it: Lots of Explanations; Clear Instructions; Chance for Review
What's not so great: Extra Steps to return to sections
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This is way easier to use than other tax software I have experienced.
The online fileing was simple and the menus were easy to follow.
Made a normally stressful experience reasonably tollerable. Like NoS before a tooth extraction!

What's great about it: the menues were great and unambiguouse
What's not so great: could have been more explicit about 401 Ks and IRAs

Got it done fast

Finished our taxes in several hours. There werew a few hiccups, but all in all it did the job.
What's great about it: Import features, W2, 1099's
What's not so great: Only comes with 1 state, didn't calculate long term capital loss correctly
