Hard to Beat

The product's guided navigation remains excellent. The in-product tax law explanations have gotten better and better over the years. BUT.....every year they get more and more pushy about e-filing. As of this year, it's no longer easy to print returns for filing by mail, which is really disappointing. Let people continue to easily choose their filing option, or include free state e-filing with every product.
What's great about it: Guided navigation. In-product tax law explanations.
What's not so great: E-filing shoved down your throat
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I think Turbotax is easier than taking your documents to a preparer.....more private.....don't have to worry about anything getting lost.

Pretty good - could be streamlined

TurboTax seemed more complicated than I remembered from past years.
It's nice to have historical information pre-populated, but editing it (especially 1099s for interest from credit unions) required more steps than they should have.
I wound up deleting 1099s and adding this year's back in.
What's great about it: Clearly covers all types of tax situations
What's not so great: Editing of old information isn't as simple as it could be

Smooth and easy

I have been using Turbo Tax for years, very easy to use. I like how it uses the previous tax year to help you on the current year forms.
What's great about it: easy to get questions answered

Have been using Turbo Tax for years and i actually, well hard to believe, it makes doing my taxes enjoyable. Easy to use, great to navigtate, understandable instructions. Overall, a great product. Keep up the good work..

Noticeably "friendlier" than last year. More information about what is coming up in the next few screens, and what a question does not relate to, so you have a better idea of what's going on. Example: "You will get a chance to print these forms later on."
