VERY QUICK AND EASY TAX PROGRAM WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO EXPLORE IN DEPTH DEDUCTIONS AND RETURN OPTIONS. IF IN DOUBT HOW TO DO YOUR TAXES BUY THIS PROGRAM ITS FOOLPROOF!
What's great about it: VERY FAST AND EASY
What's not so great: NONE

Shifting from forms to ez step leaves me in different places - I was frequently frustrated trying to get back to where I was.
What's not so great: Program asks for same information multiple times; there are too many unclear and unexplained screens;

My 2012 Return Experience

I have used Turbotax for many years. This year's version is the best yet in my opinion. The guide screens and questions are easy to understand and comprehensive. The whole process of preparing my Federal and State income tax returns including itemized deductions took only a couple of hours.
What's great about it: New Guide format, ease of navigation

Over all I like the product. I like year to year transfer, way it walks you through by asking questions. I like the comparison year to year.
What's great about it: Easy to use, accurate, quick.
What's not so great: Cost, State filing cost.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and I'm still amazed how easy the program is set up and how a person with no tax experience can easily complete my tax at a fraction the cost of using a professional.
What's great about it: Very easy to follow and the step by step instructions were wonderful.
What's not so great: None

Easy To Use/ Needs Improvement

Turbo TAX has come a long way since we first used it when it first came out. I am happy that this is virtually an easy process now despite the fact that filing taxes is NOT an easy process generally.
This year, 2012, however, I needed some extra forms which were not easy to find with the Search button since it did not open SEARCH fully (the rectangle showed (charitable cont )then stopped not showing the specifics of the search fully in the search button, i.e. charitable contributions, non-cash, or cash or whatever ) Improvements could be made with this more like Google, giving you ideas before you realize what you need). Also, it was not easy to review the entire document, it took a lot of hunting to find what was already entered. Turbo reviewed my whole tax form and said everything was fine until I submitted my efile and THEN found an error! This could have been too late because we always file on April 15th. Thankfully we had a few hours, found the info needed, then efiled. So, how to review? Good, but needs IMPROVEMENT.
What's great about it: Very easy to begin, to add info, see refund amount and get results
What's not so great: SEARCH button worked but did not open fully/could not see search results in full

Surprised by the Results!

My situation is not the normal, but the Turbo Tax made it seem normal. Other tax preparers had to spend time trying to figure it out. TurboTax seemed to be ready for me... asked one simple question to send me in the right directions and subsequent questions made it easy to get a better result.
The ability to e-file as well as save an electronic copy for future...was great.
What's great about it: Found deductions I didn't realize and made everything easy
What's not so great: Didn't pay my taxes due for me (had to pay it myself). Had to pay extra to e-file state etc.
