Quick and Easy

TurboTax is simple to use. I liked that it transfers last year's data automatically. Next year I'll probably try using the iPad version.
What's great about it: TurboTax just makes everything simple.
What's not so great: None.

I used the program in feb used it again and i needed update s to efile my state it took an hour to download

What's not so great: your online help is nothing but someone telling where to look in faq

I have used turbo tax for many years. Intuit has assisted in maximizing my returns year after year
What's great about it: Great for checking for all possible deductions

Intuit has the best tool in the market to help the average person filed their income taxes at a relative reasonable cost...all you need is to be prepared with all your tax information just as if you would be when hiring a professional accountant, the big difference is you would not be paying the high cost to hired them. Rather, it would be money in your pocket!
What's great about it: Excellent program...easy to follow and great results!
What's not so great: None!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used TurboTax for many years, at least since the early '90s. I have tried competing products a couple of years, but both times I came back to TurboTax the following year. I can download my W-2 from my employer as well as the info from my financial accounts, which is very convenient. One of the few negatives is the when an error is identified on the error check, the solution is sometimes unclear, and some of the errors could have been anticipated and prevented during data entry. For example, I have an interest bearing tax free municipal bond fund, and during the error check TT said that I had not entered the state that the interest came from. The interest comes from multiple states, so the correct response was to put "XX" in the field. The answer is in the program, so why didn't the have me enter "XX" during data entry, or put it there automatically when I downloaded the 1099 from the mutual fund company? The other "error" was a couple of charities with blank entries for the amount. These were charities that we gave to in 2011, but not 2012, and TT had pulled them into the 2012 return. I thing it's fine that they pulled charitible donations from 2011 into 2012, but the program should ask about the blank entries when you click the "Done with charities" #or whatever it says# button so I could have fixed this error then. These are minor quibbles, but they are why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, I am satisfied with TT and will probably use it again next year.
What's great about it: Greatly decreases the chance of missing something, and I can download all of my financial info directly into TurboTax
What's not so great: Occasional steps that seem unnecessary to complete your return; annoying nags to upgrade or buy other products.

I have used Tubo Tax for many years and I am always satisfied with its performance and ease of use.
What's great about it: Ease of completing my own return.
What's not so great: Not all previous year info transferred to current year forms for comparison

I begged my husband to let me do our taxes this year (vs. paying someone else!!!). I bought Turbo Tax and any question that I may have had was quickly answered with the great clip aids and easy steps. It took me a lot longer than I expected but it was more because I didn't have everything together -- I'm looking forward to next year --- should be a lot more prepared and a breeze!
What's great about it: Easy, Fun, and Got 'er Done!
What's not so great: Can't think of a thing I didn't like!
