I have paid a lot in the past because I could not figure out the HSA worksheet. This did it all for me. Thanks.
What's great about it: Made the Health Savings Account easy to deduct.

HIDDEN FEES

THERE ARE TOO MANY HIDDEN FEES. IF SOMEONE PURCHASES THE SOFTWARE THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ALL OF THESE EXTRA FEES TO USE IT. MAKE THE SOFTWARE THE PRICE THAT IT NEEDS TO BE SO THAT THERE ARE NOT ANY OF THESE HIDDEN FEES THAT SNEAK UP ON YOU AS YOU ARE TRYING TO COMPLETE YOUR TAXES. THANK YOU .

It's so simple!

Why taxpayers pay fees to an accountant to do what they can do themselves, accurately and cheaply, is incomprehensible.
I've used TurboTax for several years and will consider nothing else.

Simple and Easy

TurboTax really simplifies my tax return process and makes completing my tax returns easy, from entering W-2 and 1099 information to filling out Schedule C. I use TurboTax year after year and have always been very happy.
Now, if only the federal government would simplify the tax code, and I'd be all set!
What's great about it: simple, easy filing
What's not so great: tax returns inherently confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy Peasy

I don't have the most complicated tax situation in the world, but also don't qualify for the 1040EZ: Homeowner, employed and self-employed, kids in college and CA resident. TurboTax made my return easy with clear guidance and additional information when needed. It could almost be called fun.
What's great about it: Quick, clear walk-through
What's not so great: zero zip nada

Happy with the Product

For the last 10 years I used a different tax software with great satisfaction. I tried Turbo tax this year and was really surprised. The experience is absolutely phenomenal. I cruised by with ease and was extremely satisfied-ten times better than the last software I used. I will definitely recommend this product.
What's great about it: Intuitive, quick and awesome user interface. Reviewing of tax form is fast and direct to the point
What's not so great: Minor only; I wish there is a button to toggle for split screento show where I am on the form.

Great...until the state

Everything was going well again this year like the last 4 I've been using Turbotax, until I hit the state return section. I got stuck in a loop where I kept downloading the state info but the return wouldn't open to continue. I had to go looking for answers with help which was frustrating since I felt so close to being finished. However, there was help available and just closing & reopening did solve the issue and I was able to continue & complete my 2012 taxes
What's great about it: all the questions to make sure everything is covered
What's not so great: infinite loop trying to get the state return started

Easy and Thorough

I am a knowledgable self preparer, but I use the guided walkthrough to ensure I don't miss any unusual income or deductions. My returns can sometimes be complicated, and it is not fast, (I have to stop and look up documents), but it allows me to be absolutely thorough and accurate. When I finish with a return, I am sure nothing has been missed. A great product! PS: I have used Turbo Tax since it came out as MacInTax, I think, in 1981. I would rather fight than switch! :-)
What's great about it: It is hard to miss anything important or helpful
What's not so great: Not many.
