Turbo Tax appears to be for use by those who know taxes. It does not initiate any deductions or ask the proper questions to generate additional deductions.

Turbo Tax 2012

I have used Turbo Tax for more than ten years. Prior to that, I did my returns by hand using the IRS forms and booklets. It got to the point that I could not complete my taxes with the information provided by the IRS. My tax situation was not that difficult but the tax forms were.
I have never had a problem with Turbo Tax.

What's great about it: Accurate, easy to use and easy to compare with previous years returns.

Basically Very Simple & Easy

The program is very intuitive to use, both for experienced filers and first-timers. Overall, the is very little that I have issues with, basically the only complaint is the CON that I listed above - Certain information from previous years seems to not be carried forward on all of the schedules or forms. The majority of them do, it is just ones that seem to relate to AMT calculations and/or some stock information.
What's great about it: 1. Information carries forward very well. 2. The guidance is very thorough. 3. Very economical. 4. Interfaces well.
What's not so great: 1. Certain information that is available in the forms don't always carry forward.

I've been using TurboTax for over 15 years and while the interface has become less cumbersome some of the navigation aspects have been removed. It's hard to go to a specific page without going thru yes/no pages to get the page you want to edit.
Deductions are too simplified in some cases and it is difficult to find examples that fit my specific needs.

What's not so great: Hard to tell if I'm getting ALL of my deductions.

I love TurboTax ... year after year

I'm a multi-year TurboTax user (10+) and it gets better each year. I understand the rounding of numbers to the nearest dollar but I like to watch my pennies. This is the only thing that I would say would be a negative.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Would have like all of my W-2s to be imported

Be sure to get the correct version so you can claim your home office.
