Excellent program and am very pleased. I have been using your tax preparation program long before it was called Turbo Tax. Somewhere in my vast piles of "stuff" , are the discs of when it was INTUIT tax program.
What's great about it: Walks you through the income and deductions very thoroughly
What's not so great: not sure yet, but i did owe this year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Refund Made Easy

I love to use Turbo Tax. You can do it on your own if you have some tax knowledge, but will walk you through the whole process. Love that they keep your info from year to year so that you don't have to type everything in, like w-2's, and retire ment accounts. It can be a pain if you have to retype everything from year to year. Taxes made simple.
What's great about it: Will walk you through all aspects of returns
What's not so great: Not always clear about information needed.

I really like the feeling of confidence. I had used a CPA firm for the last 13 years and always thought that I was overcharged. But after selling our businesses, I thought that TurboTax was the way to do....esp. since the CPA was using Intuit.
What's great about it: Detailed, inexpensive.
What's not so great: Repititious

First Year of Difficulty

TT would not apply the deductions for my home business. The result was the same whether I entered figures or not. I ended up having to enter the figures manually on Schedule C. This made about a $200 difference on taxes owed and many hours of trying to resolve it. Disappointed.
What's great about it: Intuitive
What's not so great: Hit a snag with the home business

This is an easy product to review. I've used Turbo Tax for at least 15 years. It has guided me through the extremes of working for someone else, or filing as self-employed.
The user interface for Turbo Tax makes it easy to move from one year to the next. By downloading last year's information and downloading current data, tax preparation is a cinch.
Thanks for another year's worth of help in filing my taxes.
What's great about it: Common user interface - always behaves the same. Good summary of new laws and changes. Good error checking.
What's not so great: Charging fees could be easier.

I have been using turbo tax for years. I've tried some alternate tax filing software, and have even used professionals to check and verify my return. In summary, it does a great job. Even though I had to pay over $5400 this year, at least I feel confident my return was accurate. I would certainly recommend this software, because it not only calculates taxes, it explains why.
What's great about it: Detailed explanations of every term and entry
What's not so great: Sometimes slow
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Essential for surviving tax season

Without this tool, I would HAVE to resort to an accountant.
The user interface seems to get better every year. This is accomplished without bloating the code excessively. I am running this an a very underpowered Windows XP laptop. TurboTax nonetheless responded quickly and crisply. I did have one problem getting an automatic update to complete ... I just closed the app, restarted, and it worked the next time. (That could have been a problem with my router.)
What's great about it: Clean interface, robust online help, great network integration
