Walks you through step by step. Thouroughly looks for all possible deductions. Plenty of information and additional resources to learn about each issue.

Using Turbo Tax again...

Works well for me.
Have used this for years and have been satisfied. Some situations like filing 2 state returns get confusing when you are asked to check the amounts that should or shouldn't be taxed in 1 state or the other. I don't know...that is why I use TT...so I don't have to try to decipher the IRS regs. Some explanations are fuzzy...
Overall, a good product. I feel generally confident because I had done my taxes for years by hand. A good timesaver!!
What's great about it: Usually very striaght-forward
What's not so great: Some out-of-the-ordinary items are difficult to resolve

The Best

I have been using Turbo Tax to file my taxes since 1996 and I have never had any problem. I had hand-prepared my own tax returns for 20 years prior. I remember that I tried Turbo Tax because it looked like it would be fun! I was so nervous that I simultaneously hand-prepared 1996 only to find that it took me twice as long and made me crazy! Who would have believed it could be so simple? What a relief! When they started with e-filing I could not have been happier! Gone are the days when I would be driving around looking for an open Post Office at 11:30pm on April 15th! Now my taxes are filed hours (sometimes days) in advance and no more anxiety! Thank you Turbo Tax!

we do foster care for adults with developmental delays and for children, we have to claim parts of the monies we receive. Turbo Tax would not allow for an override or correctly calculate the credits allowed by the federal government. So while we paid for the program, and out adult kids were able to use it, we still had to get a different program to do our taxes.
What's great about it: fairly simple to move through
What's not so great: Misses or wont allow for over ride on several key issues

If your not a "tax person", this is just the program for you! Step by step questions guide you through each area of credits and deductions, additions and subtractions to income etc. At any given moment, resources are available for more clarification. blogs, FAQ's, and links to IRS.gov publications. It's everything you would want and need to successfully do your taxes yourself. This saves you so much money! I've been using Turbo Tax for 20 years!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax step by step guide and questions are a life saver! So easy to use!

Got It Done

Had some difficulty to get back to a completed input for checking it for accuracy. Had to go thru many steps that had already been answered correctly to get to the page that I wanted to review.
What's great about it: Covered all bases
What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to specific pages for review during prep

Virtually Painless Withdrawl of Funds

Although I had to pay, Turbo Tax made it easy to find all of my deductions. Everything was easy....except giving the IRS my money!
