Smooth Sailing

Great way to file! Using Quicken, we print out our transactions in one income/expense report by category. Gives all totals and details for input into Turbotax. Quick and easy.
What's great about it: Step by step questions, electronic filing
What's not so great: A few vague or unreferenced comments

When inputting our own values of deductible charitable items it would help to have a custom item button selection in an obvious place on the screen so not to have to type "misc" to bring up the correct screen. This would bypass the search function.

Great overall

TurboTax is GREAT. I have used it for 5 or 6 years in a row now, for increasingly complicated situations (e.g. stock gain and loss) and my confidence in the app is very high. My only suggestion is about making the non-cash charitable contribution valuation easier. I find ItsDeductible to be inconvenient for me and prefer to use the Salvation Army estimates, since that is where I typically donate old clothes, etc. I manually estimate each item from the SA list and then add up for each donation trip. If there was a way to use the SA list on the computer to aid in estimating and summing, I think that would improve efficiency. This year I made 5 separate donation trips and over 125 separate items donated, and took about 1 hour to do my estimates manually.
What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: perhaps make the charitable contributions easier?

TurboTax was fast and efficient - once again

We have been using Turbo Tax for years and it has always been easy, fast and efficient. The help lines have worked well to get some fast answers to various questions while completing tax returns. It is great to have previous year's information pre-loaded and it is good to have the system walk through various scenarios to ensure you get maximum return.
The only improvement I have found is that when answering the various topics for income and deductions, the screen returns to the top of the list and the button to enter the next topic is at the bottom of the list. If it simply returned to the bottom of the list to see a summary of the last entry AND get direct access to the NEXT button, that would be nice. Seriously, that is the only problem i have found with the tool.
What's great about it: It is nice to have previous year's information loaded automatically and stepping through all options is very easy
What's not so great: After completing one section, the screen returns to the top of the list instead of where you left off

Awesome product!

I worked for several years for a business that was IRS certified to do taxes and have done my own for years. Turbo Tax cannot be beat! It is easy, reputable, accurate...I have used it for 5 years now I think. I love the fact that it brings in last years information and re-keying is not necessary plus the across year summary is very useful to me. Keep up the great work!
What's great about it: Best product on the market! Dependable, easy to use and accurate! Would recommend this to anyone doing their own taxes
What's not so great: I can't find any! :)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

i have never done taxes myself before and i didnt know taxes could be so easy with this program. turbo tax was super easy and going step by step to get the maximum refund i could get was awesome. thank you turbo tax
