Easy to use

The software is easy to use and the update of the previous years information is very useful
What's great about it: THe software allows you to import data from previous years which makes it easy to complete your taxes
What's not so great: You have to get to the end of the form to see all documents

Simple and Complete

Very good, had an acct for the last 10 yrs but thought this was very easy and complete.
Covered all I had questions on.
What's great about it: Cheaper than a CPA and felt they coverd all bases
What's not so great: Paying for State e-file. More explanations on Interests / Dividends

It just keeps getting better - 15 year user

Every year this product just gets better.
It pulls most of what I need from my prior year return. Great time saver.
It covers things I would never think of looking at.
It takes all the work out of comparing itemized to standard deductions.
It handles AMT with virtually no thought on my part.
It adds little comments to help me understand the relevance of some obscure/arcane topics. There is still room for improvement here, though.
It is well worth the money. It makes tax filing fast and relatively painless.

What's not so great: It doesn't include the state filing fee - can't think of anything else

Worked for all the returns in my family

Did 4 returns and even with some complicated financial details this was easy.
What's great about it: Step by step assistance; easy download from financial institutions
What's not so great: Paying for state filing
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Very easy

This was very easy to use for someone with little to no tax knowledge. It walks you through every possible deduction and even repeats itself for the important ones. I have used other tax software programs and this is my favorite. Not only is it easy to use but it has a user friendly "face" . Simple to read and breaks the terminology down so you can understand.
What's great about it: simple
What's not so great: should be able to automatically upload w2 info

Almost perfect

For several years I only qualify for standard deduction. It would be nice and save a lot of time if in the automatic review prep a person could state they want to use the standard deduction and then would not have to address any of those questions. It would be good to be able to have a skip or N/A box for each section as they go through the interview.
What's great about it: Asks all the right questions to remind a person of items to submit data for.
What's not so great: Had to fill out sections that I didn't need.

2012 turbo tax is quick,thorough, and easy to understand. It would be so much more convenient to use the previous years addition with online updates. I paid previous years of taxes through the EFTPS program and did not understand how to apply or if I was able to apply those payments to my current year tax deductions. Future student loan principle payoff information for 2013 will be great.
What's great about it: quick thurough easy
What's not so great: having to purchase each year turbo tax instead of one year with new year updates

The Turbo Tax product usage has been enjoyable. In the past we have paid for tax prep services and were satisfied but it took extra time to get the same outcome. We have even had our information lost by these services only once and that was enough. The cost for tax prep has been greatly reduced by Turbo Tax and we are getting a better product and a great savings. Not being professional CPA's, Turbo's step-by-step questioning helps us recall and organize ourselves better. If we get tired or frustrated we simply save and return at our convenience....very nice when trying to be thorough. We even help our homeschooled adult children do their's and be responsible without having to be a professional. We have used Turbo for approximately 4 years and recommend it to our children, we would no less recommend it to our friends.
What's great about it: At home, hassle free, private, economical
What's not so great: None so far after 4+ years
