Employee stock purchase plan, restricted and non-restricted was not well explained - I have uneasy feeling about this
IRA distribution, some was after-tax distribution, and was non-taxable. Employer said I probably needed to file form 8606, but TT did not mention this, and since I efiled, I did not include this. I have uneasy feeling about this
Why can we not import data from IRS for Social Security benefits
What's great about it: I have used for years, it generally seems very thorough
What's not so great: Employee Stock Options - IRA distributions, not well explained

Great product

I've been using TT since 1998 So i can't really recommend any other tax software but I do know many people who haven't had good experience with competing products. It keep settings and values from the previous year which makes each following year easy to complete.
The only reason I would switch - if TT went out of business.

Suggestions

TurboTax has gotten easier to use every year. Now we need to work on helping people make changes with business and investments to increase their after-tax income.
With the tax code as lengthy as it is, much more so if court decisions on the code are included, more suggestions and references for possible deductions to take, or changes to make in the next year to take advantage of possible deductions, would be most helpful.
Currently, some lists of deductions and income sources are listed. Links to federal forms are shown, with the easiest help being through the TurboBax Community.
But other methods should be investigated. These can just be associations to the current profession or investment types already known, and proceed from there. For example, most people don't know the tax advantages of starting an at-home business, or that moving money between different retirement accounts depending on one's age can be greatly beneficial.
The more information presented in the easy to understand ways the better - unlike the tax code.

Improved functions

Last year it took me hours to find out how to access an explanation field on a form, this year it had a button. The program is easy to navigate and it is great to import info from Its Deductible.
What's great about it: Filling out unusual forms was easier
What's not so great: Not sure why state submissions cost money

Turbo Tax is the way to go. You simply can't go wrong. If you don't understand a topic or know if it is relevant to you, there are plenty of details to review. If you do know and just want to get through the pain, it's easy to walk through. Turbo Tax is simply a WIN-WIN for everyone!
What's great about it: lots of detailed tidbits of info and good pointers to more detail if needed
What's not so great: wish it would let me put in all the "data" for us and then determine best way for us to declare items joint or separate
