What's not so great: Too many attempts to sell you stuff embeded in main flow

Slow program response
on February 25, 2013

The program was very slow to load and the cute messages were unnecessary. When i got to filing the fedeeral return there was a message that block 10 needed to be blank if the amount was less than $1.00, but the error was not obivious. Since I had entered $0.00 why was the program not smart enough to know that there was not dollar value? Overall I was not as satisfied with the program this year.
What's not so great: Program was very slow to load

State Refund Unsatisfactory
on February 25, 2013

When it was time to e-file, we were told we couldn't e-file for the state because my husband and I don't live together. Well we do live together and turbotax was unable to tell me where in our return they found information leading to this conclusion. I had to print out my taxes and send them in the old fashion way.
What's great about it: It seems that all topics were covered.
What's not so great: Unable to locate specific errors during e-filing process.

TuboTax Does it again

Once again the software provided great tips and explanations for all of my complex tax needs. I might have been able to squeeze a couple more bucks out by visiting a local accountant but it wouldn't be enough to pay him/her. "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's"
What's great about it: Absolutely incredible software
What's not so great: Its tax time
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

This is my 5th or 6th year using TurboTax. I love it for its accuracy and ease of use. Have never been audited (not yet anyway) and am always pleased with my refunds.
What's great about it: easy to follow step-by-step
What's not so great: had a little trouble figuring out how to handle a deferred tax rollover

Confusion with turbotax
on February 25, 2013

Listen... i bought turbotax and put the dvd in my computer and some how after filling out all the info and got to the state of filing, a screen comes up and says i need to pay for it again. some how an on line version kicked in also and i filled out all the info and then got my pin # from the government on the online version. How this happened i am clueless but know it would have been a real pain trying to straighten it all out after i gave all the info already. There is no phone # for anyone to call about this much less some one on line to email the situation to.
What's not so great: below

Non Resident Income
on February 25, 2013

This is the first time in several years I had to complete a non-resident tax return for another state. While some of the values were loaded into the form automatically there were no instructions as to how or if I should modify the dollar amounts of the W2 wages area. When I printed my NC return I noticed the total wages line was overinflated by the amount of my NC earnings; it added my W2 wages which included the NC wages, to my NC Wages. What's up with that?
In a prior year of using TT I was able to e-file my resident and non resident returns but I could not do it this year. Why could you have not sent my NC e-file along with my GA return?
What's great about it: Generally very pleased with TT but not this year
What's not so great: Sched CR instructions did not come through. Directions on completing this section were non existant
