No one enjoys actually paying taxes (well, no one I know anyways), but Turbo Tax made the process as painless as possible! The software is easy to use, everything is explained clearly, and it's a relatively quick process!
What's great about it: Easy to use and everything is explained clearly
What's not so great: Can't think of any!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I DOWNLOADED TUBOTAX DELUXE ON-LINE USING MY DEBIT CARD . I ORDERED IT ON APRIL 13,2012 SO DOWNLOAD WAS A LITTLE SLOW DUE TO HIGH VOLUME AT WEB SITE . IT TOOK AOUT 45 MINUTES.
DOWNLOAD CAME THROUGH COMPLETELY .
INFOMATION COULDN'T BE DOWNLOADED FROM PREVIOUS RETURN BECAUSE OF CHANGES IN FILING STATUS (FROM MARRIED TO SINGLE ) . BUT THE PROGRAM MADE THIS SIMPLE . I ENTERED THE INFO AS THE PROGRAM ASKED FOR IT AND I WAS DONE . PROGRAM RAN ERROR CHECKS AND EFILED BOTH FEDERAL AND STATE RETURNS . IT ALLOWED ME TO PRINT AND SAVE MY RETURNS .
NOW I JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR MY RETURNS .

I have used Turbo Tax for the last 7 years or so. I find it to be a reasonable way to self file without spending a fortune. Many people tell me that I am cheating myself because a preparation service will get a bigger refund. I am not necessarily convinced of this. I do think that it could be more customer friendly though. It seems that there is a lot of places that info that I have been using since the first time I bought TT must be manually typed in. Each time that this happens I wonder if it is just too difficult for the programmers or if it is a convenience for you and an inconvenience for me. Just a gripe. Tax time is a stressful time and these little things can seem overly annoying.
What's great about it: coordinated way to self perform
What's not so great: too many fields that could auto-populate that must be typed

As I said above, the best part is that one does not have to know any tax laws. The program just guides you through it. It can be used by anyone as you don't have to be an accountant.
It is great for keeping records and pulling in info from last years return, thereby saving a lot of typing.

I haven't use turbo tax for several years now and was surprised at how much improved it is. It is easy to move from guide to actual tax forms. It was very easy to get instructions and additional information using the links.
