TurboTax 2012 software was a disappointment

I spent a number of hours trying to correct 2011 tax filing based on 2012 TurboTax numbers that were incorrectly placed on 2012 filing. Based on transcript from IRS the 2011 filing included a IRA amount correctly but the TurboTax copy on my computer for 2011 did not list the IRA amount at all. 2012 Turbo with assistance from expert tax person from TurboTax had to be manually forced to apply IRA amounts correctly. I have used turbotax for many years and this 2012 software was the most difficult experience to date.
What's great about it: E-file worked well
What's not so great: 2012 TurboTax did not correctly present IRA amounts

It makes doing the taxes a lot easier than doing them by hand. It remembers info from one year to the next to make entering the info easier.

Hate Taxes - LOVE this tool!

have been a TurboTax user for several years now (6? 8?) and I know it has saved me headaches and dollars! It keeps track of my circumstances year to year, which has included a divorce and a large business investment loss that carries over, as well as home improvements and vehicle sale and purchase. I am confident that my taxes are in order and done correctly. I even had a friend who is a well respected tax specialist offer to review my return in one of the 'sticker' years and she wold have missed one of the savings Turbo tax found for me. She was quite impressed with the results!
What's great about it: Helpful, Easy to use, Asks the right questions and SAVES MONEY
What's not so great: I can't think of a single negative...Honestly!

Turbo Tax return for 2012

Most all of Turbo Tax is easy to understand, but for the past two years, we have had issue with the education credit portion. I don't believe it details everything as it should. I noticed that many others asked the same questions as I did: how could I not qualify this year when I still am in the confines ot the $160K married/filing jointly & why was it stating that my dependent would need to file some scholarship info as income? Neither made sense, but I finally figured it out on my own and assistance from the college. Turbo Tax really needs to work on this portion. Thanks.
What's great about it: Most areas are easy to understand

Too many bugs

Way too many bugs and problems w/TT 2012. Very annoying and had good luck in previous years.
What's great about it: The input and format is consistent from year to year. Generally user friendly as TT same year to year

Most of the directions are very clear, but there are some things I don't understand. The part for investments are sometimes unclear.
