Great Help

Will continue to use this program for many years to come. Makes filing taxes much less scary.
What's great about it: I've used this program for years and have never been sorry for it!!!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

We have used Turbo Tax for the past 5 years and have always been happy with the outcome.
Being able to do our taxes at home, not having to carry all our personal information to someone's office and hoping we have everything we need, is fantastic. All the information you need is right at your fingertips.
Any questions you have is either answered thru the software, or you can contact a professional online.
We will continue to use Turbo Tax every year.

Thorough and rather painless

Turbo Tax has enabled tax payers like myself to do their own taxes at the minimum effort and cost. At times it seemed it was too narrowly focused, but in the "Community" section I found answers not apparent in the pop ups.

TurboTax Federal and NY

The NY tax interview lacks in the ability to pick up on all the items needed to complete a return for all the deductions and credits that can be taken. But then that is NY!! I do wish it was more thorough. By comparison, the two returns are so different in the interview process. But I suppose by the time you get the Federal Interview done, You just want to fly through the State!!! But it is still important to get all the deductions and credits from your state!!
What's great about it: The Federal Tax walk through is pretty thorough and easy to do,.
What's not so great: NY state walk through is not as thorough or easy to do as Federal.

One issue

I think it went well. I had no surprises other than IO owed the gov. money
What's great about it: worked well, updated as needed.
What's not so great: Confused me with a discription of a problem.

Overall when using this it remembers things from year to year. I forgot about the volunteer work and it asked if I was still involved. I did have some trouble to delete items which were not to be applied for this year but there last year. The software indicated it could not delete at this time and would go over it later. During final review it was a possible error and it took time to find where it was located and I needed to delete the form for this year.
What's great about it: Download info from your employer and investments
What's not so great: If you do not answer question when asked yuo then must search for it again.
