Used it for years

Turbo tax is amazingly simple and easy to use. If yours taxes aren't too crazy, it is a snap.
What's great about it: Easy and simple, takes you through each thing. Also gives you extra hints on what should be in that category.
What's not so great: Had a harder time this year with changes in my marriage status. I think my taxes just got too complicated.
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I would rate the system an 8 out of 10
What's great about it: Gathers, maintaines, category files, computes return
What's not so great: would lie to see forms with numbers and be able to edit on the form when i make a mistke rather than go back thru 6-7 sc

I entered all info on the 1098t for taxable scholarships. I spent 40 minutes looking for way to enter income. I then went to forms after talking to irs. Wait time at irs 800 number was 13 min. 64 minute wait time on turbotax.
When I got to the forms 1040ez. I saw that turbo tax had already filled in the sch amount on line 1 for me. So it was done I just did not know it. So the forms feature is required.
What's great about it: better than paper and free efiling. Forms feature
What's not so great: a wait on april 15 to be expected though

Easy Does It

Overall, I think it's a great program. As much as taxes are painful, if you've kept good records, why pay someone to enter in the information when you can do it yourself? You've already done the hard work. Also, by doing taxes yourself, it keeps you up to date on changes in tax law and where you can improve next year. It gives you a sobering exposure to becoming more conscious of your financial picture and what you might consider doing differently the following year. If you pay someone to do your taxes...you are more removed. It is more of an abstract exercise and often is not educational at all. Quite frankly, the person doing your taxes has many clients and doesn't have the time to care as much as you do about your situation.
Even if you have someone do your taxes, you should still use the program to keep them honest:-).

What's not so great: More information needed on certain topics

Loved It For Years!

I have enjoyed using Turbo Tax for many years as it makes the whole process easy and reminds me of items I might not have remembered to deduct! Plus, it accurately computes the tax and I can feel confident that if I have entered the numbers correctly, my return is correct.
What's great about it: Being able to transfer last year's data and easy to use.
What's not so great: I don't like having to revisit an entire topic when I just want to make a simple change to one item.
