NO ISSUES SINCE USING TURBO TAX

6 different CPAs resulted in 6 audits for me. Finally I tried turbo tax 5 years ago and NO ISSUES since with the IRS.

TurboTax makes it easy

I have used H & R block software in the past and find TurboTax superior. It is easier to follow and makes filing your taxes much less of a burden.
What's great about it: Easy to understand questions guides you through the process
What's not so great: None

Harder to use this year

I've used TurboTax Deluxe for 4 years. I'm pleased with the overall quality of the program and my experience. This year (2012), however, it was not as easy to use. Many interview questions were not explained well, not all technical terms had links with pop-up explanations, and I am not 100% confident about some of the actual tax forms it fills out automatically (where did I answer this? is that actually the right answer for my situation?). I still think the product is worth using, but for the first time I think it would be good to take it to a real tax preparer just to double-check everything.
What's great about it: Lots of questions, but streamlined to ask mostly the relevant ones
What's not so great: More confusing than past years, needed links to terms that need explaining and to forms

Sixth year in a row

I believe this is the sixth year in a row I have used Turbo Tax to help me file.
My favorite aspect of this program is all my basic info is available in filing for the subsenquent year.
Next, the constant updating of the program, makes me feel more confident of accuracy in filing.
What's great about it: basic personal info is always available and can be updated into the new return

Best bang for the buck!

I very much like TurboTax because it guides me through an annual review of my tax situation, expenses, and possible tax planning for the coming year. I trust it far more than a walk-in service, where you may be asked to return time and again if you have forgotten any documentation. You can complete the return at your leisure, amend it as needed, even try out different scenarios to get an idea of possible future tax year liabilities.
Only proviso: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS back up your data, including a hard copy and an electronic copy on a CD in case a hard drive crashes.
Other than that, tell the truth, and you're golden.
What's great about it: Easy guide reminds you of all the things you need to check, with additional options to add info as needed.
What's not so great: Didn't have any - have used for years and they have made it pretty foolproof!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax was the easy part

Turbo Tax makes it a breeze... once you get all the financial institutions to send all of the information to you!
Directions are clear and easy to understand. Navigation is intuitive. The ease of picking up where you left off if you don't do it all in one sitting is great. And the ability to pull forward info from last year to speed up the process and do a perspective check on what this year should look like is a huge benefit. And this year, as a Texan who doesn't normally file a state form, having to add a state return for work out of state was surprisingly easy!
Thanks for boiling down those hundreds of pages of tax code to a super simple process for us!
What's great about it: easy entry, easy navigation, easy stop and start

Almost painless

Would not do my taxes without Turbo Tax. They are easy to follow and make it almost a pleasure to do taxes.
