I would like to see more drop downs for explanations of tax info

Tubo was easy to use and transfers everything from the year before to make it easier.

First Time Filer - So EASY!!!

This is a great product. My Dad has been using Turbotax for years and told me that it is the only way to go. I tried it by myself, and had my taxes completed and electronically submitted in about 30 minutes. Great job!
What's great about it: The software asked me everything I was worried about forgetting.
What's not so great: I have to mail form MI-8453, but I was not given a mailing address to send it to. I had to google the address.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

quicken is good for people with simple returns

I've just discovered that for the past 7 years I've been missing some deductions...all along TurboTax recommended I use the standard deduction, but now have come to find that LOTS of itemized deductions I had and could've used. OH well...the simplicity more than makes up for the aggravation. Time is money and even though my returns were not as good as they could've been, I am happy with the ease of filing. It's just money.
What's great about it: easy, pretty simple to follow
What's not so great: I see now that I've MISSED deductions for the past 7 years

I never enter user names or passwords by hand. I use a password program from which I copy and paste. This eliminates the worry of key loggers. I have never met a tax software program that allows a password to be pasted. It is not fun to have to reset a 32+ character password with a financial institution because of incorrect typing of the password. It also causes a delay in preparing and filing one's taxes, even causing me to file an extension one year.

As Always...Our Choice !

We have used TurboTax for over 10 years, and have found it to be comprehensive and concise. We actually took our returns to a Tax Accountant and he could find no other deductions we might have requested.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, comprehensive
What's not so great: Had to search to find a form

No hassle, no problem

Turbo Tax was 'THE BOMB' for me, this year!!! I had the unpleasant task of going through all the required documentation of selling my main home, retiring, and even unpaid taxes for the year. TT guided me through all the forms with outstanding results. Thanks for another great experience.
What's great about it: Had everything required to file a complicated return.
What's not so great: The 'question and answer' screen was not readable due to multiple entries of text, one on top of the other

Don't Pay Anybody!

I buy it every year now and it gets easier and quicker each time I do it. I like the feature of comparing last years amounts to current years....easy to pick up on errors. I really don't understand why someone would pay to have their taxes done.
What's great about it: Step by Step
What's not so great: None that I can see
