I find Turbo Tax to be easier each year I use it...Is it me...or is it Turbo Tax? Who cares! It works!

Easy as 1-2-3

I've used it for many years and can't say I've ever had a problem. But I know that if I don't understand anything, it is simple to get him and clarification.
What's great about it: Easy-Simple-Lots of Help-Does not require PHD
What's not so great: Took forever to get my wife to review it before e-file.

Not as good as in the past

I have used TurboTax for many years, but this time I had to handle a donation of a boat. I have all the required paperwork, but the screens that populated the F8283 were confusing at best, and even the telephone help was unsure of how to handle it. I eventually got the forms to check out, but the software left a box unchecked. The instructions after the 1st rejection were to be sure to not override anything. On the 3rd try, I did override that box and checked it and then the return went through. In my opinion, this whole area needs some fixing.
What's great about it: Generally easy to use
What's not so great: Has bugs in handling large charitable donations.

Good but improvements needed

Other improvements needed:
- Make it easier to quickly jump to specific topics in rental property section to make changes or additions (rather having to wade through a lot of questions you've already answered to get to the place you want to make changes)
- Quick zoom doesn't seem to work for me
What's great about it: Easy step by step assistance
What's not so great: Doesn't re-open to where you left off in step by step process

Easy To Understand

I like the fact that no deduction goes un noticed. Some I would not have thought of. I like that you can go back and edit.

Two returns in 10 hours

My mother is retired and her taxes are pretty straight forward. She mainly has IRAs, Social Security, real estate taxes and charitable contributions.
My taxes are a little more complicated. I have W2s, 2 home businesses, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, stock grants, home mortgage, real estate taxes, charitable contributions and 5 children.
I did both of our returns in 10 hours, starting from scratch. Oh, by the way, love the ItsDeductible web site. I will definitely be using it in 2013.
What's great about it: Love the step by step Easy Guide. But when you need to you can go right to a form.
What's not so great: Sometimes seem redundant with all the unrelated questions. I guess this is needed to ensure you get the maximum refund.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo tax makes it very easy for someone with no finance or accounting experience to find deductions. I love it!!
What's great about it: Asks me every questions needed!
