Excellent

It worked out well. Other than a few hiccups. I will continue to use Turbotax and recommend it.
What's great about it: TurboTax finally added the information regarding the adding on of 403b in NJ to the income.
What's not so great: Still had a few issues with the part where you have to check a box regarding the income being double taxed.

I find the step-by-step easy to use the first time through. However, if you leave items blank for later finishing or need to return to correct numbers, it becomes very difficult/annoying. It is also difficult to enter "what if" numbers for tax planning. Specifically, looking at tax ramifications for getting Social Security early or taking a part-time job can be frustrating. Overall, I recommend the product, but there is still a lot that can be done to make it more user friendly.
What's great about it: Covers most subjects, Checks arthmetic, efiles forms
What's not so great: 1. No links to IRS documents.2. Hard to go change specific areas. 3. Had to step through questions already answered.

Nebraska State Tax Return for my deceased mother

I was a little disappointed in the software for not fully answering the question of how and what to file for my deceased mother state tax return.
What's great about it: Federal filing went fine
What's not so great: Didn't explain what to do with state tax filing

No pain, lots of gain!

I was dreading this task again this year, but with the added download of most of my information from various sources it was a breeze! Thank you TurboTax for continuing to enhance your product with the end user in mind!
What's great about it: The direct download of information makes it so much easier!

Pretty Good

Found a glitch this year. The program would not let me separate mileage between businesses. Tried multiple times and finally gave up.
What's great about it: Worked well
What's not so great: Help files could have been more detailed
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Best thing Ever

I have used Turbo Tax for many many years. For a couple of years, we used an accountant, but they charged sooooo much, it wasn't worth it.
What's great about it: Step by step instruction.
What's not so great: Hard time finding the exact area of the errors. Question at the top, but barely hightlighted in the body

State Taxes didn't work

this is the first time that i've had an issue with turbo tax. The state tax portion wouldn't work. I shut down the program and rebooted it and it still didn't work. Frustrated I left the return for several days. I opened up the program and prepared myself to call the help line. Thankfully the state tax return portion worked this time.
What's great about it: easy to use
